Hey Everyone my name is Chris and in a previous life(before marriage) muscle cars were my hobby. But soon after meeting my wife kids came along and away went the cars. So in interest of the kids, a few years back I built a go kart for them and then decided to build a few more kart like toys just to increase my fab skills and keep me out of trouble.
My first BSR was something I worked on and off for a couple of years until inspiration hit me with a theme. I had seen many others build with a beer brand theme but I've always looked to be just a little different and trying to stay a good Father figure I came up with the A&W Root Beer Racer. Still had the beer word attached and I had thought of ways to build on ideas but not quite be beer. Things like the Bottle caps on the bolt heads and the wooden mini keg of root beer. The colors of orange and brown fit well and it grew from there with the sprint type wings down to the extra wide racing slicks. When I sold the BSR it was only fitting it go to a man from Roush Racing.
The second BSR that inspired me was the Snap On theme racer. Snap On tools have always been my favorite tools and so I decided to build something much simpler and cleaner. A lot less flash but yet create and strong professional statement. Red is always a great color and the contrasting white lettering worked well. The intention was to have a much less expensive unit but make it desirable. I think it came out well.
Next came a harder challenge of the Radio Flyer Wagon. I built and rebuilt that thing 3-4 times to get the clean very low yet functional. This one truly made me look like I was riding golf ball when finshed, It was tough to package everything in there. Electric start motor,TAV clutch, brakes, exhaust, battery, and clearence for the chain all under the seat.
All these project are using Honda clone motors including my kids go kart.
Tell me your thoughts? Im start up another thread for my next couple projects and why Im here on your site.
Thanks, Chris

Your work is quite remarkable. How do you accomplish chain tension on the BSR's? Do you use slotted motor mount holes? That's what I did on a minibike, and then I used a turnbuckle in the front for adjustment.

Love the velocity stacks! 8)

If I got my hands on a v-twin Vanguard, I'd build a really ugly bobber.
