Hello all. New guy here. I have a 2005 Terminator/Roketa, 200cc, round chrome mirrors, 56T rear sprocket, etc. I bought it late fall of 2005, did not ride at all last summer due to a retinal tear/bleed (doc said NO BOUNCING ON A MOTORCYCLE) and am now in the mood to get the thing on the road. I have been lurking here a week or two, and I think I know I few things I need to do to make it a good commuter bike. Please tell me if I am on the right track. Bike has 200 miles on it, on third drink of oil (Rottella). These are my plans. Good ideas, or not?

1. Swap the rear sprocket for a 46T, a JTR269.46, so it will not rev out at 48 mph.

2. Get some decent mirrors.

3. Improve/move the battery holder. I can weld, would like to move it under the seat.

4. Move the clip in the carb down a notch. The bike is now a first kick starter, but hesitates when I open the throttle. Also tinker with the idle screw (bottom front of the carb, right?) to speed the idle up a bit.

5. Keep going over all the bolts and Loctiting them as they loosen.

6. Take my GPS unit on a ride and "calibrate" the speedo.

7. Get some advice from you all on how to diagnose/repair a gear indicator that indicates only first gear, if that. It worked when I got the bike, but no longer.

Thanks, Ron

For starters, Welcome to the site. You are definately on the right track. For#3, here's what I did:

The idle screw is the one on the SIDE of the carb on the right hand side of the bike. The screw underneith, in front, is the fuel screw for the low speed mixture. You want that set to about 2 turns out. Good luck and get back on that thing!!!
