Fuse.

Not sure about the other answers though.

The little red wire goes into the fuse box. The fuse box is the part that is black and attached to the other smaller red wire that is attached to the larger red positive battery lead. I would recommend replacing with a weather resistant blade type fuse holder from your favorite auto parts store.

The two thick leads. Black and Red would attach to your battery. If you just want to test you can attach some jumper cables to your car battery and then to those leads. Just leave the car off. The battery should be plenty to boost a small bike.

ok i was thinking it was supposed to be attached,, but I couldn't see where?
....Ok so where does the other end of the thin red wire lead to,,, and why is it fused? what amp fuse should it use?

The little pack on the positive side is the fuse holder. The small red wire that is taped to the black wire is the other end of the fuse holder.

Make sense?

no you said that and i understand,,, this time I ment,,, where does the little red wire that goes to the fuse box,,, where does the other end of it go to,,, basically that is run off the fuse? There's no lights or anything?

I think I understand your question; do you want to know what the small red wire powers?

If so, it heads to the ignition switch (if equipped) and the rectifier. From the ignition switch, it goes to a start button and then it usually travels through a brake switch and ends at the solenoid.

The large red wire from the battery powers the solenoid that activates the starter. The small red wire activates the solenoid that allows the large red wire to connect with the starter.

Am I closer to understanding your question? Which Province are you in?

Someone will have to confirm, but I think a 15 amp fuse belongs there.

Find a weather tight one at the auto parts store and replace the original fuse holder. Looks like it may be damaged anyway.

Get the kind that uses blade type fuses. Easier to change out.

Princess Auto or whatever Canadian auto store should have them. Even walmart does.

X2. A blade type that has a flip top cover is even better. I think I got mine at Princess.

BTW, the name Princess Auto is deceiving. It started as an auto wrecker on Princess Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba around 80 years ago, and they slowly morphed into a surplus store. Now, they're not much different from Harbor Freight in the USA. Awesome store. :D

Easily found at Canadian Tire or wherever. The flip top is a really good way to keep junk out of the terminals.

all atvs & bikes etc come with a 10 amp fuse... 15 is close enough but a 10 is the preferred amperage...that is what all the stuff I sell have
