Well I really did it last weekend, I should've stayed home.
Went out with a buddy for a couple hours of riding and I put the bike down ever so slightly cracking the right side headlight bracket and breaking the right signal light off its bracket and my front fender in half.
I also ended up with a flat rear due to a 6" framing spike then the bike fell over putting it in the back of the truck breaking the taillight...
I didn't have time to get to the repairs till this weekend and Pics to follow.
Bondo Fiberglass Repair Kit to the rescue!
If it won't hold up to the abuse I'll breakdown and buy new plastics.
Pics to follow.

Safe to say You're not having a good day.
You know, I hate to do away with spare parts, but I have a spare gy5 front fender and headlight shroud if your really need it (still has the 5 and the little transformer logo)... I replaced mine with gy2 pieces... Not sure if you'd want to throw in the effort of destickering another headlight piece... The gy2 headlight piece is identical but comes without the sticker, so that is the easiest way to do that ;). Other then that though I dont have the other stuff (lights).
Ordered my spare plastic stuff (well not the spare stuff, the stuff I am using) from Tom at RPM, he shipped fast, and I think is very fair about pricing and shipping charges... Great to deal with.

kinda looks like my wifes bike after she "broke it in" .
I replaced the front fender with an aftermarket fender and repaired her headlight but also have an aftermarket headlight to be put on it.
I still have to make my goofy side panels for mine and now she wants her bike done like mine  .

I was thinking if my reapirs don't hold up I'll go with an after market fender and headlight, UFO possibly
which did you get?

Thanks for the offer Jim!
I'll see how things hold up this week when I take the bike out.
Hey no problem, I'm not using them. (the only reason I said I hate to lose spare parts is cause sure enough if I get rid of them thats when I'll break something ;)).
Anyways though, if I did break my fender I think I would look at another gy2 one, I like the look better, so really no need for that. And the headlight piece has the 5, not sure how much work it is for you to remove that?
Let me know how things hold up.
A question about the tail light... Do you not have the rack on the back? I figured it would protect that. Or is it just off for repairs?

Well Ive had the rsx for about a month now, and mostly was street riding at first, but a friend invited me to an offroad park (Big Rock) so I went at it. Ended up laying the bike down perhaps 5 or 6 times on some rough trails. The damage was one turn sig. post totally ripped out, one busted, the shifter pedal bent all the way backwards (on rock) and the shit battery holder snapped at the welds or glue or what ever.
I have to say though, being a cheap internet bike, the more it looks like mad-max t he more I like it, ha.
So the hardest fix by far was the battery, but I found some really good steel brackets at the hardware store called bar holders... I dont really know what their purpose is but they looked like a fit and it turns out they worked great.
I need to get some pics up of how I did it, it was a cheap project too, around 10 dollars.
By the way, for an enduro it made it up some big hills, not a true Dirtbike though.

it took a couple weeks ( been working way too much) but I was able to hit the road again. Everything held up except the tail-light assembly, I noticed it was gone when I stopped for gas ( the red plastic light cover fell off again) and by fluke on the way home I saw the piece on the side of the road by the bridge near my house.
this time I have epoxied it completely to the light's frame(chrome looking) and have scrapped the screw posts. only drawback is when the light burns out I'll have to replace the whole assembly.
Oh well the ghetto fix has worked great for now and just about every plastic piece left on the bike has been either fibreglassed or epoxied in some way. 8)

I have taken it off as well as the rear foot pegs and other "off road useless weight" stuff.
It probably would have saved the tail-light but then had I strapped the bike down properly it would've never fell over in the back of the truck in the first place.
Ahh gotcha ;) (I use the rack to tie the back of the bike down)
Hey Molypod, what paint type/color do you use, does it match up with the red, or is it a little off? (I am going to paint the white side covers red). Thanks for any info.
ps, everything still holding up?
