Hmm, Didn't think about the electric start..good point, I have dug a little and cannot find who makes them yet.

If it had a headlight/taillight/brake light I could see the battery/electric start and it could be used on enduro races but it just has the electric start for convienance.

Just added weight that could be taken off for an easy weight savings.

Atleast it has the kick start so losing the battery/starter motor would be no big deal. But I'd think it would need a cover plate for where the starter motor shaft went in.(no big deal there)

Actually I'd like to see if one of those could be converted to street legal use by adding the needed items to it.
Hmmm....I wonder what the paperwork says it is.
headlight/tail/brake light-blinkers-mirrors and street legal tires.

I went on a lots of pit bike forums and it is Chinese made. But some say it is it's own brand some say made by lifan. Wonder if that motor would fit a lifan 200???? 8) also found an ad'vid on You tube and it looks like it has the teeny tiny Pit bike tires..But it sounded strong.

My '05 Yamaha TT-R250 is a real dirtbike and it is e-start only. The newest designed KTM dirtbikes out this year, are also e-start only. My '05 WR250F had both e-start and a kicker. Seriously, manufacturers have been putting e-start on dirtbikes for years.

Or did you mean chinese dirtbikes?

I had not been on a bike in over twelve years  , That's why I jumped at the chance to get my China bike so cheap :D . So I had no clue it was all about electric start now.

Bikes are great! Even china bikes. It's good that you are riding again. Keep it up.

Hey, we are living in the 21st century! :)

I was minutes from there about an hour ago, but I am sure they are not open on the holiday.

Dawsonville is in my work area. There is a new motorcycle shop on the main route from Atlanta too.

Yeah I just cant imagine people who race dirtbikes leaving an electric start system on a bike seeing how they seem to want the lightest bike.
Maybe the advantage of hitting a button and getting it going rather than kicking it outweighs the weight factor.I dont know, I dont/wont ever race now anyway but I do prefer a good electric start system over kick starting.

That was a selling point for me on the china bike. I can't kick as easily as I use to. I tore my ACL last summer and spent the winter recooping. Still not 100%, but I can ride. I have kicked it, but I take it easy. The button is much easier to puch.

No older jap dualsports have an e-start in my price range.

As I said above my '05 TT-R250 was e-start only. I bought the kickstart kick because I wanted the kick backup just in case the battery failed or something. The weight penalty isn't much. The bike already weighs 273 lbs. what's a few more going to matter. I don't race but I want the most reliable bike I can have on the trail.

After you ride an enduro, and stall your bike at mile 62, you will come to love the e-start. E-start on enduro and hare scramble bikes is not new, but it growing rapidly.

MXers ride in a circle for 20 minutes, e-start doesnt make much sense for them

I'm lazy. I just remember kicking my xr75 for what seemed like an eternity.

I put blocks on my rear pegs so my daughter could ride with me..I can't kick start wihtout hitting them..So I love electric start..But I actually like the feeling of kicking over a bike.

That is a good idea on the blocks. I am going to wait until mine is at least 4 though.

Mine is five, She is great..Two big hose clamps and a couple of 2x4's did the trick. I have an idea in my head of how to make one that folds and turns and so on..But I have no machine shop or lathe to make it..So it will never see the market.

She is going on 3 and has ridden on a z50 with me around the yard, but not on the road. I want to wait until she can hang on and then it will only be for a few miles at a time.

I'm sure she'll like it, I wish I still had my first bike..Old honda 80 with enduro package..Top speed of 40 mph. But no matter how hard I tried I could not break it.
It looked a lot like this, But it had all the lights on it..ANd no orange paint on the motor 8O I will never forget that bike.
