Good evening to all. I would lIke to ask a few questions
My batter is weak and runs down rather quickly when trying to start the bike, could this be a contributing factor to any part of the electrical system failing especially the CDI unit
I also have a problem finding the type of battery that came with the bike, it's said to be an older model battery and is not available here, can anyone point me in the right direction to a replacement battery, preferably sealed ,
Thanks in advance

This is what I am using at the moment. I am happy with it considering the price. The stock one was good too but sometimes acid would come out and had to repaint my swing arm because of it. Sealed is much better of course.

Go to your auto parts store and see what they have in stock.
But make sure that battery is not bigger than following measurements.

These measurements are from the stock battery. New batteries are usually smaller I would say.
length 13cm
width 7cm
height 13cm

My current one is smaller then stock was. So had to use piece of cardboard fold it and place it between the battery and plastic so it won't jump around.

The CDI unit operates entirely on AC current from the pulse coil of the stator and the pickup coil. A bad battery won't harm the Zong's CDI unit. ;)

I have a Motocross YTZ7S, AGM battery installed in my Zong. It works great, and I like it very much. :) I bought my battery from the following vendor.

You could also made your bike lighter by installing a Shorai LiFePO4 battery. I installed the following battery in my Honda XR650L.

You can also go the the local Batteries Plus store to buy a YTZ7S battery. ;)

I forget; where do you live? :?:

Voltage :12V
Cranking amps ?

Anything else needed?

I believe the batteries I have used in the china bikes are around 90 CCA or cold cranking amps...lucky you being in the Bahamas, the first C is not all that relevant. Just guessing here but i would think just about any 12V scooter motorcycle battery in good condition would crank the Zong in the mild Bahamian weather. Big difference b/w 55 degrees and sunny, and 10 degrees and icy IME.
