Good night to all. I am hearing a bit more rattling from my engine and was wondering if the timing chain tensioner can and should be adjusted. Is it an automatic tensioner or can it be adjusted and what's the best way to do this.
Thanks

Spud will likely confirm, but I think your tensioner is automatic. The tensioner on my old TW is manual, so I replaced the spring, and some of the noise disappeared.

Thank you very much. I am not sure because it has some type of adjustment screw In the middle and I'm not sure how to quite the chain down a bit. It's not too too bad but very noticible especially at higher rpms.

The Photobucket page came up, but there are no pics. Can you link one?

It's automatic:

Thanks, Krasi_BG.

According to page 6 of the parts manual, http://www.chinariders.net/transfer/spudrider_01-09-2010_123552_LZX200GY-2_parts.pdf , not only is the tensioner automatic, it is one assembled piece. Spud's lasted him for many miles, but that doesn't mean yours might not have a broken spring.

Does the noise change under load? Is it louder while accelerating? Are the valves maintaining adjustment?

Weld is correct; your Zong has an automatic cam chain tensioner. ;) With so few miles on your bike's odometer, you should not be having any problems with either the cam chain or its tensioner. I suspect the noises you are hearing are normal.

Thanks guys it might just be something normal. I had a few street bikes in the past and I suspect that I'm just getting used to the sound of an off road bike. Thanks for the link weld. I read it and see that that is absolutely correct. I will recheck the valves also to make sure they are set properly. I havnt do e this for more than a month now and iv put almost a thousand miles on it so far.

Thanks once again to you both.
