Because the TMEC 200 (and 125s in the UK) seem to use an oddball clone for a rear sprocket, being the Derbi Senda vs. The commonly cloned Honda XL 185, are there sprocket mfgs that can custom make a useable sprocket? I want at most, a 39 tooth sprocket. The d imensions to the Senda is right on JTs site, so could someone simply usethis to custom make me one?

The labout to custom maunfacture a sprocket would be brutal, unless you know someone with a milling machine.

If the dimensions are on the JT site, why can't you buy one? Is it that they don't offer one that small? What is the largest size they offer?

JT offers a 48 tooth as the smallest. I found a place called Rebel Gears or something like that which can manufacture any sprocket. Will definitely look into them, as it seems they can make one for about $50.

PMP Sprockets is another manufacturer of custom sprockets. ;)

Thanks, Spud...I remember these guys from another discussion. Will call them and let you know how it turns out. I know that there are a few TMECs in the US and UK which could probably use a lower numerical sprocket than 48 teeth.

These might be of interest to Lifan GY-5 owners, thanks to your link, Spud:

OK, went with Rebel Gears since PMP is on Christmas/New Years break. In theory, they could make me a 40 tooth sprocket as the smallest Derbi Senda clone which will make culcune a happy boy  if it fits and works out! It came out to be $54 or so including shipping. If it works out, other TMEC owners could order the same sprocket, too. I know that one of our members ordered the 48 tooth JT, and those are somewhat readily available in the UK for TMEC 125 owners, but I really wanted freeway-ish gearing which I think the 40 will do. Of course, this assumes it fits... :?

Ordered the sprocket from Rebel Gears on Friday, received it via USPS today! $56 including shipping. Have held it up to the old sprocket which is still attached to the bike, and it looks like the holes are all lined up. However, will have to wait to change sprocket and chain to see if it really will work. Again, keeping my fingers crossed!

PMPsprockets were closed through New Years, so could not call them, but on their site, shows 40 teeth sprockets for the 200cc Lifan GY-5, which gives me some hope that my bike could pull a 40, too. Since my stock sprocket is based on another 125cc bike's sprocket, I figure the 125s can't pull much more than a 48 tooth, which is what JT Sprockets goes down to. If mine works, other TMEC owners should be able to order the same one from Rebel Gears.
