Hey all, i have been reading your posts and gleaning info for the past few weeks to help me with my new china bike purchase. I purchased a Hi-Bird qh200gy 2 weeks ago and have been doing the usual....rear sprocket change from 56 to 40(thanks Bruce at endless journey cycles) it works great on the highway with my 17 tooth sproket. I have also added the cone air filter and relieve the muffler abit. Today a spent most of the day getting rid of annoying vibrations and fixing my speedo. here is a list of stuff I did to quiet the vibrations.
1. took off the front fender and put silicone adhesive betwwen the metal support and the fender before bolting it on also check and found a spot that had been rubbing so I bent the metal in a little to avoid the rub.
2. I had some issues with my tanks cover, so I put some silicone about an inch out from the filler hole all around it to stop any noise from the cover and gas cap bumping together.
3. The 2 tabs under the seat broke off the first time I took the tank cover off. I noticed the rear area of the tank rubbed on the cover under the seat so I sanded that portion of the tank cover away to avoid the rub.
4.My head light assembly cover was also rubbing on the mounting brackets near the side screws that hold the headlight number plate surround in place so once again out came the sand paper.
5.Speedo- my speedo had been working fine until the other night then it started reading a good bit faster than i was going 55mph actual was reading 80phm on the speedo. After taking it apart i found that a bug had gotten lodged in the cup from the speed cable and caused friction between the cable cup and the needle rotation cup. removed the bug reassembled and viola. I hope this post helps someone else just as many of you have helped me.Thanks :D

Enjoy the new bike. I was just reading on TT with all them bashing our bikes. These bikes have a purpose and fill a niche market.

How is the 40T sprocket?

Never been to TT, found this site first and was way too busy reading. Enjoy your bike worksalot. Have you seen my gallery? I did some of the same fixes as you.

Don't bother with TT. Most of the people there have a complex toward anyone who spent a fraction of what they did for a bike and is enjoying what they have.

I spent alot of time there until I was riding a Pullin GS post on his china bike which turned my on to these bikes. I can say that today is the first time I have been back TT since I signed up here. I just wanted to see if he had posted any updates.

Pullin G's post on TT is what actually pushed me over the edge into buying my China bike and I don't regret it for a minute...
Worksalot, I'm sure you'll be very happy with the sprocket combo you have now, the 56t makes no sense on these bikes unless your looking to put around the yard... Have fun and enjoy it...

Thanks for the welcome invite. I like the 17/40 combo just fine on the street . I have been getting some wierd looks from friends when they find out how cheap these things are. I do my long distance riding on an 07 harley street glide but I live in Southern Indiana and with all of the beautiful trees and backroads having a dualsport for bombing down the back roads...its just hard to beat these little dudes.

Congrats on the bike!!
People can insult these bikes all they want, They are inexpensive and fun.
I picked my bike up used for 500 bucks. It was used by a friend to teach his wife how to ride. Everyone who actually see's it and rides it cannot believe how much bike I got for the money. Last night my buddy showed up and looked at it..*Harley Mechanic*..He said it looked (alright  And that it was not very big. ) SO I fired it up and let him take off. He is a big boy..ABout 400 LBS. He was shocked that the suspension didn't move that much when he sat on it.

He took off and the bike hauled him like he was nothing. All he could say when he got back was (DAMN 500 bucks! Really??). I could tell he was very very suprised by it. His perception of a China bike has changed a little bit..Because he actually rode one rather than listening to all the negative press and bashers.

I am very happy with my purchase. I have been getting about 75mpg and it hasn't let me down yet.

The Harley is a nice street ride, but it has it limitations too. These little bikes have there place.
