Ok, so far the vbike is a nice little quad. I bought it from Tim at vbike.us He is a great guy, and if you give him a call, he will give you one heck of a deal
I did pick up the bike at a local shipping company, but it was only 10 miles from my house, so it was no big deal. When I got home and opened the box, I found there really was not that much to assemble. I had to throw the handles bars on, wheels, and tighten up all of the nuts and bolts. I did have a cracked headlight switch, but vibke sent me a new one out that day. The quad even had some gas still in the tank (tim test fires all bikes before shipping.)
I did have some minor problems with the brakes. When I first assembled the bike the rear disc brake was locked up. So the next thing I tired to do was bleed the system. When I did this I lost all pressure in my brake system. Next I took off the master cylinder and found out that the o-ring in teh piston was bad. I put a new one on, primed the system, and now they work perfectly.
The bike fires right up, and the quality of it seems to be decent. Remeber, its not a yamaha, but at the same time remember that I paid a fourth of the price. The bike also rides smooth and the gears seem to shift firmly. The last thing on the quad I want to look at is the clutch. It seems to be very stiff and grab wierd. I think it just needs to be adjusted.
In conclusion, its a great bike for the money. I am still in college and could not see the point of spending 5 grand for a new quad when I can get one for $1100. So far it has done everything that I need it to, and only time will tell how durable and dependable it is. Pics will be up soon, and hopefully I will be able to keep posting updates about the lifespan of the quad.

Yellow,
Have you been able to figure out if its a Hi-Bird rebadged as a Vbike?

Well, they sell 3 different 250cc atv's. I think one of them is just the rebadged hi-bird. I was told that the atv I purchased had a little wider stance then the hi-bird looking atv. Other then that, I do not see any marks that gave a clue to what make the atv is.

I took the vibke for the first ride yesterday. My cousin and I went to a friends farm where with live. Its about 150 acres with trails all over. In most part the quad did really well. I did have to adjust the toe on the front wheels for the quad to track right. You have to fight with the handle bars on the tough trails due to the light front end on the quad. ALso, during breakin 4th gear is useless. By the end of the day, the bike seemed to have more power due to the rings seating, but 4th gear may still only be use going flat out. My cousin had his new honda rancher 360, and that thing drives nice. Every bump and fight of the handlebars I felt with my quad was not even noticeable on the honda. On the other part, my little 1100 quad kept up with his honda on the rough paths, as long as he went first do knock down the bigger brush and let me see what branches lie ahead. The cool thing is when I got stuck on a big tree or something in my path, all I had to do was lift the quad over it. Weighing in at only 300 lbs, this is easily done. As cheap as I bought this quad, it is great for what it is. Not a work horse, but a fun machine that you can take off-roading with some friends.

KC,
Welcome to the forum, glad to hear you like your 250 so far. You and Yellow have to share some pictures with us! Im glad to hear Tim at Vbikes has treated you both well.. I bought a Hi-Bird 200cc atv from him under his other site.. Digikool.net and my experience was also very good. Tim is also known as Azsupply on Ebay. I guess he has done well enough to start his own brand of bikes.. Hence the Vbikes.. If you guys think it deserves mention there is a dealer discusion thread where people look to gain insight on potential sellers of Chinese products. Your feedback would be helpful...
Hope your wife enjoys her 150................

I always wondered how well one of the china atv's would do.
I stopped at a used car lot that had a complete selection of the HI-bird atv's just to check them out and was a little dispointed at some of the things I seen on them #1 beeing the price of around $2100 for the 250cc.
Last weekend we got the wifes raptor 350 out to the trails for the first time and that thing is nice but I would really like to buy the raptor clone that is out just to see how many parts are interchangeable but then the clone cost $3000 and the raptor cost $4900.
If i could find that raptor clone for closer to $2k I'd be very tempted to get it.

This is the quad I purchased. http://www.vbike.us/index.php?page=showpro&spid=18&bs=&pz=&scid=38 From talking to tim, this is suspose to be a raptor 250 clone, but I am not sure how close it really is to a raptor. All I know is they are a blast, and I hope all of ours holds up well over the next few months. July 4th will be my next time out with the quad, so hopefully I will be able to take lots of pics.
Btw....It says its an water cooled engine, but I ordered mine with an air cooled engine. This is what time suggested for me to do.

I took the bike out on the 4th and it was a great time. We had 4 fourwheelers out and mine kept up with all of them. There were two older suz 230's i think and a newer utility 250 suz. The worst part was, my gf did not ride mine quad at all. I left her my uncles automatic atv for her first time out. She did well, and now is really excited about riding my new atv. Its fun to get those city girls out into the woods. I still cant get her off the kick of buying a pink helmet and jacket to match my black 4-wheeler. lol Oh well. I should be going back out this thrus for a few hours, so I will try and get some more pics of the event.

Btw, everyone who has one of these china quads has to let me know how there 4th gear is. If it runs alright, or if it just bogs down and wont go anywhere like mine. Thanks in advance.

Did you just lower the c-clip to make carb run richer? If so, I will do this, richen up the idle mixture, put in a new spark plug, and see how it runs from there.

Yes,lowered the c clip and adjusted the air fuel.It made a big difference.I also changed the spark plug.

Did you lower the c-clip the whole way down, or only one down? Also, how much did you richen the screw up, like how far from closed position. Thanks for all the help.
kczukiman

Yes I lowered the clip all the way down.As far as the richness I closed it all the way then opened it 1 1/2 turns to start with. Then I adjusted to where the rpms were the highest then backed the idle screw in until I had a purfect purrrr. After that I hit the throttle with quick bursts to make sure I had a good response.Put it all back together and she runs like a champ.

Yellow,
Let us know if it makes a difference.!! Remember results may vary by altitude etc. If the top of the carb is easy to get at you could try the C-Clip in increments to see which works best..
Glad to hear you got good results kc... and that you changed out the stock plug. Out of curiosity when you changed out the stock plug did the reach look different than on the new one? My NGK looked like it had a shorter reach than the stock.. But it works great.

I finally got my carb tuned. It has been a busy summer for me mostly consisting of work, so I have not had much time to play with the atv. This morning I put a new NGK plug in the 250 as well as richen up the carb. There is still a little hesitation off idle if I give it full throttle, but if you ease the gas a little and then straight to wot it will scream. When I have time, I will fine tune the low idle screw more, but for now I just want to ride the thing and see if it helps at all in 4th gear acceleration. I will keep everyone updated.
Also, when I took the old Chinese made spark plug out of the bike, it was barley darker then white, showing how lean these things are set from the factory.
