hi im new to this CR and recently bought a 2005 jetmoto for 600 in washington. I was just wondering what it is a clone of. i bought it used so its got some pretty good wear and tear on it and just want to swap parts out as they go with easier to get parts. like the carb just started acting up (pissing gas out the filter and the side of the carb itself) when i was up a trail so id like to get a new one without the long wait. so if someone could share the info that would be nice. china may be making things better but i still prefer the better.

Welcome!

In FastDoc's words, it takes a sense of humour to own a China bike. Can you show us a pic of the motor? That will tell us a lot; be sure to focus on the top end.

My old bike was a Jetmoto dual-sport. It had a Zongshen 163 FML 200CC engine which puts it right in Honda clone territory. My guess is this is the engine you have. The rest of the bike, not sure. For the carb, I believe they came with a Keihan PZ 27, but a 30mm carb should do the trick as a better replacement. Mikuni carbs for XR's are direct replacements, but someone should be able to correct me if I am wrong, or add details if I am correct.

AFAIK, all XR's came with Keihins. It would be fine to use a Keihin clone on a China bike, except that there are a few variations of the same carb in the CB world, and that makes jet sourcing a nuisance. The 30mm Mikuni has been dead consistent for me, and finding jets is a snap.

That's a bored and stroked clone of a Honda CG125, which is a dead-reliable pushrod engine. The only real performance limitation it has is that it uses one cam lobe for both intake and exhaust, but they still make decent power and torque.

Your carb is a Keihin copy. I'd recycle it and install a 30mm Mikuni, like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/30MM-MIKUNI-CARBURETOR-CRF-XR-200-250-CARB-V-CA09-/181021019764?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a25b18e74&vxp=mtr

This is my favourite air filter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/42mm-Air-Filter-Cleaner-250cc-ATV-Quad-Dirt-Pit-Bike-/180592447937?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a0c2611c1&vxp=mtr Make sure you oil it properly. It might not fit your bike without a little massaging, but it's not much of a gamle at $7.00.

Change the jets in the new Mikuni. The 100 main should be swapped for a 110, and the 20 slow jet for a 25.

Set your valves: http://hondacg125.awardspace.com/valve_clearance.htm

Have fun!

What is a non running jet moto worth? Found one on Craigslist for $360. Thought about maybe $150.

Seems like a good start.
