I get what the builder was trying to do, but he could have done so much more.
The tank is a really nice shape, and is either an early Yamaha or Suzuki dual sport piece, which looks right at home with the flip-top cap. That said, a dual shock bike suits the cafe look much better than a monoshock, and it should have 18" wheels front and rear. Eliminating the airbox, using a K&N style filter and hiding the electronics would go a long way as well, because he could dispense with those awful side panels. The exhaust also looks really cobbled together.
The clip-ons are a nice touch, but they aren't complemented by mid controls; rear sets would really tie this bike together. Too bad he chopped the subframe so far, because that seat would be unworkable for a six-footer.
I've considered building a China cafe, but I would do a few things differently.

Those are all things the next owner can do.

the rear end is too short, that kills an otherwise good attempt, though it s half-hearted. i agree with weldandgrind that a see-through midframe is a must IMHO.
300 bucks isn t all that expensive.

$300.00 is only the current bid, and the reserve has not been met. I wonder if that joker set the reserve at $2000.00.

The opening bid would be a deal for the engine and other parts.
