Best gear ratio

What do you guys usually do for sprocket mods? the route to any wear from my house involves stretches of highway (50 mph) I could do 55 without to much a problem but I don't think my bike liked it that much. The gearing does feel pretty low so I think I'm probably going to go for a higher ratio. I don't want to kill my acceleration and be stalling all the time either though.

I like the 17/45 combo on my lifan. I also tried a 42 rear, but it seemed to tall for me and I had the same top end with the 45 with less clutch slippage.

That's based on a 200. A 125 engine would struggle to work with a 17/45 ratio.
