:wtf:
That's pretty cool. :) However, I don't think that Gold Wing would do very well hauling an F150 up a long slope on the high plains of West Kansas. ;)
Thanks for posting the interesting video, Allen.

Cool video. I have seen it on the Gold WIng forums.
Actually, I think the Wing CAN tow an F150;-)

I don't doubt it, Doc. ;) However, I don't think the Gold Wing would do very well hauling an F150 up a long slope on the high plains of West Kansas. ;) It's hard to keep your speed up driving a sedan while climbing the seemingly endless slope at that elevation. :)

I also wonder how long the clutch would last. It is pretty much a tow dolly.

The elevation change there is deceptive. It's so flat but still rises. I last rode through there on a GS1100 so HP was no issue but I also recall flying over Oklahoma with the plane on cruise at a comfortable 5,000 feet or so. After a while, I was getting too low for comfort. It seemed like the altitude hold had failed but it was the terrain rising.

Lol, that was different! Clever engineering though! :D

When I see motorcycle riders lane splitting, it freaks me out! :wtf: Lane splitting is an inherently dangerous activity.

When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 6 years I split lanes every day on my XR250L. It's a sport and an art form. It is also 100% legal in California. It is all about risk management, and risk vs. benefit.
Many times I'd ride from Fremont to Los Gatos to see my ex while we were dating (I wish, in retrospect, I'd have been run over...). 32 miles.
On the XR I could do it in about 45 minutes on 880 if I split lanes. In a car, stopped in traffic it would take, EASILY 90 minutes, and it has taken well over 2-2-1/2 hours in heavier Silicone Valley traffic.
In the city (San Francisco (NEVER say 'Frisco) or San Jose) it would be darn near impossible to commute without splitting lanes.

I understand you can save a lot of time by lane splitting. :) It still freaks me out. ;)

It is freaky Spud.
It was exciting, a bit like racing. Your mind is so focused on every nuance around you. Its invigorating and exhausting.
One of my joys on leaving the Bay Area for the California mountains was leaving behind forever the crowds and traffic.
I feel blessed to have ridden many 10's of thousands of miles there without an incident.

Indeed, you were blessed not to be hit by those innumerable, maniacal drivers. :)

A few tried over the years, but were thwarted ;-)
