ok guys, been asked to get a thread up pertaining to this...

i bought this thing off craislist for $100, looking like this, these are the pics from the ad...LOL

at this point it had no clutch cable, no brakes at all front caliper was dry, and locked up, rear was down to the backer, and low on fluid as well... ordered a clutch cable, as well as new brakes all around and a new rear tire... the cords were showing on the other one...LOL figured i didnt need the choke, and got a tank cover and seat pan and called it good....LOL

wasnt happy with the clutch, so i got a hydro clutch off ebay...now, these clutches are meant for the bigger engines, or the start in any gear engines...mine had to be in neutral to kickstart, which meant it used a shorter cable reach for the clutch.... however with some ingenuity, i made it work with a clutch cable perch for a 79 honda xl75 with a bit of tweaking and grinding....and a big stack of nuts...LOL

after that, i put in the race cam, which as you can see on the left, has a substantially more radical profile than the stock on the right....LOL

then out with the old pz19 carb, and in with the new mikuni clone 26mm...

added a race cdi in there somewhere and blew up the clutch good at 11k rpm....

then i ordered the monkey bike exhaust, which fit quite well off ebay...

http://i662.photobucket.com/albums/uu346/bogieboy01/20120723_155827.jpg (http://s662.photobucket.com/user/bogieboy01/media/20120723_155827.jpg.html)

then, me and one of the counties finest got into it about my use of a pocket bike on the back roads for fun, and i ended up getting a "different bodykit" for it.....LOL in the form of a kawasaki, traded the bike and $300 away for this, thus ending the pocketbike saga...

if anyone is interested in the hydro clutches, theres a bunch on ebay with either 90cm or 120cm hydro hoses, depending on how far you need it to reach...

90cm hose version (http://www.ebay.com/itm/151043383008?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)

120cm hose version (http://www.ebay.com/itm/151043949900?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)

that was a beautiful little bike. you could have put it in the lounge room just for its good looks! does the kawa need a bit of restoration?

Haha the kawi was bought in perfect running order with 860 miles on it, i have since added a few things to it like a vapor dash, bark busters, and a UNI pod filter...

That looks like a really sore thumb.

Thanks for all of the detail. So, were you happy with the hydro clutch? Was it worth the effort? Do you have pics of the replacement clutch that you installed, to replace the stamped cage?

Do you know the model designation for that bike? I'd like to try and find the rearsets for another project I have in mind.

The low-slung Monkey bike exhaust looks really good!

as for the hydro clutch, i would get one again in a heartbeat... in fact i have both lengths of hose bookmarked in my ebay watchlist for the bike i am gonna get...gotta do some measuring and figure out which one i need...as for the actual replacement clutch, i didnt take pics of the new one...

as for the model of my pocketbike, its an X18,i dont recall the manufacturers name... started with a z, thats all i remember...LOL

i thought the monkey exhaust really added that sportbike feel to it....LOL
