ever wondered how long the cable lugs on the zong would last? my negative snapped years ago, it was time to replace them with sth sturdy from supercheap.

here s the zong lug:

here s the zong compared to the new:

and here s how they mount

IMHO it s the best modification after all of Spud's and the VM28 mikuni flatslide

Did you flow a little solder in there as well?

i just rebuilt my harness on a 06 zs250gs and i soldiered all of it then heat shrank it with marine grade heat shrink (it has glue in side that makes a water tight seal) got my plugs from radio shack took me 4 1/2 hours and a lot of patience by getting rid of the old taped harness and re-looming it in wire loom it can transfer heat better and you can access 1 or 2 wires where ever you need to and then button it back up all and all for 15 bucks in loom, connectors, and heat shrink from harbor freight it looks vary nice and makes it that much more reliable

CK, that's an excellent investment in time.

did you take a photo? were there spots where you re-routed? i ve never inspected my wire harness on the zong. i assume it would be very tight?

If you unwrap the harness, you're likely to find goofy splices of ground wires, etc. It's worth your time to be proactive about it. That said, I doubt that Spud has completely unwrapped his harness, and he has 90,000km on it.

i completely unwrapped mine and re spliced my grounds with marine grade heat shrink and flowed solder to make sue nothing comes loose the old plug ends where all green and white from weather and the plastic was shot but now my bike runs like a beast for only 230cc's i still want a do a sprocket swap to go faster i need to take more photos

Now I'm afraid to look at my Zong's wiring harness. :wtf:

Thankfully, it hasn't caused me any problems...yet.
