Hey I was wondering if any of you guys jump your bikes? If so do you have any good photos? even wheelie photos would be cool!
most of the pictures of these bikes I see are just pictures of the bikes on the kickstand sitting there. I think it would be cool if you guys could post some of your good action photos!
So now is time to post those cool pictures and impress the ladys!

The only way my bike will have it's front wheel off the ground is if I jack it up and put it on a crate  And it is not a good bike for jumping..To dang heavy...It'll snap that bike like a twig.

It wont snap/fold.
I used to think they would but after pounding my wifes bike over the whoops of sand for a few hours I can say it wont just fold up like a lawn chair.
I'm 260lbs and beat that thing so hard that I think I may have compressed her fork springs a little permanently.

Mine has little to no plastic on it..It is heavy...Like the old 70's and 80's bikes...Not sure about lifans or roketas.

I think ours weigh 280lbs or so if I remember from weighing it in my garage
AZ200cc

I can just picture my front forks folding up under the bike..I bet the Lifans can take jumps and still go..This one I might do a small whoop but nothing over a foot or two.

Nope, I love my little bike. :!:
I have pictures of not great wheelies in my gallery, im no good at doing long ones, but i can get the wheel up... I got a little bit of air on the bike on the weekend a couple times, nothing big though, and no pictures, but alot of my pictures arent just on the kickstand. I think the galleries have lots of good pictures (everyones), hopefully they just dont wind up on some grey market sites ads...

So the enduro bikes weigh around 285? the Jetmoto site lists the weight as 200 did they mean 300?

If anyone wants to use my pics for any reason, go for it. I'm honored. I wouldn't post them if I didn't feel that way. We can't stop it anyway. Hopefully they will be used as I intended; to help all the new people on this site that come after me. That way the same questions don't get asked over and over.
If you are new and don't know where your Ignition Coil is then look in my gallery. Arrows and everything to point the way. There are people on this site that easily qualify to work in a bike shop or do already. I find it hard to believe that when they get home from work, they log on to this site and answer my stupid questions. The least I can do is document it. :D N2r.

Hey Jim You got that front wheel up..Not to shabby. Makes me wonder If I should not doubt my bike as much as I do.
Im not very good at it, but look on youtube, look at Sheadouglas' videos http://www.youtube.com/user/sheadouglas he's got some wheelies, and other riding, nice videos...
for more aggressive riding of these bikes check out this video

These bikes will take a lot of trail riding abuse no doubt..... They won't however stand up under MX track abuse. IMHO that is. Adult MX, I mean. I would suspect the footpegs to be the first breakage point from jumping the bike a lot.
Jeremy

I also have dialup and it sucks. I did watch the video with the green bike and it was cool! It took at least 30 minutes to load so I just spent that time reading SamM's thread about his viva mods. Its a good read!
Thanks guys for posting the videos!

best way to wheelie these bad boys is with weight shift and throttle - no clutch.
frankly it just doesn't have the HP to clutch a wheelie with my fat ass onboard! (280lbs dry)
my Nephew - now he wheelies with clutch - but he's twelve - and weighs about 80lbs!
me, I stand up - gas it - let the gas off while leaning forward to compress the front forks - then roll back on the gas while leaning back and up she comes!
if you can wheelie a bicycle you can wheelie this bad boy :-)

thats a cool picture!
I am a professional Trials bike rider (mountain bikes) and am good at wheeling them and it sounds like you are using almost the same technique as on the bicycle so maybe I will be able to ride some cool wheelies when I get a china bike!
My longest wheelie is over 8 miles on my mountain bike! I am thinking about trying to go for a world record but have not set things up yet.
Thanks for the photos!

I plan on taking my bike up north saturday and riding it very hard.
After doing that on my wifes bike we noticed the front forks were very smooth but possibly the springs were a bit compressed/unsprung also.
We may have to look into replacement springs if the stockers prove to weak.
I could never have ridden her bike as hard as I did without the engine bolts having been replaced. We had broken the stock engine mounting bolts just doing mild(very mild) offroad riding last year.
If I get to a place that isnt all sand I'll try to do a wheelie on mine.I'll probally have to load the front and pop it up also.
Jeremy
07-06-2007, 01:29 PM
So it sounds to me like the weakest link to these bikes is all the bolts?
If I were to replace every bolt do you think the bike would hold up to offroad riding and miled jumps (3 feet tall and smaller)
I want a bike I can have a little fun on but dont really want to spend $4,000 on it. I am still not sure if the china bike is up to the task.

I think they'll jump as well as MOST dual sport bikes. The bigger ones weigh more so they don't jump much higher either. This is just MHO though.
Replacing the stock bolts is a decent idea but then there will be something weaker that will probably break.
I rode mine pretty hard when I first got it and was very impressed with what it would do for me and the hills it would pull. I don't do that as much now because I know it'll do it. :D
I've abused mine pretty good, no real jumps though, and it has all held together very well... The only bolts I would worry about changing would be the motor mounts. I've also head of swingarm bolts breaking, but mine hasn't so I don't know about that.

I don't ever plan to jump my bike, but it may happen an some very small jumps. I think that the weak link will be the rear suspension parts and the engine mounting bolts. The rear doesn't have alot of travel.
I have jumped my mountain bike off the deck about a 5 foot drop. That hurt.

I once drove a moped off a work bench at work  that was nutts.
I do worry about the foot peg bolts breaking as well as the axle bolts and the swing arm bolts and oh yeah the brake mounting bolts well pretty much every bolt on it except the ones I put on it.
I say ride it, be careful, and I always remember it's just a dualsport not a full on MXer.

how was the moped after that?
I am sort of concerned about the axle and swingarm bolts too... But not really much else. I have abused my bike, I've run it up the highway for hours strait, getting the revs up to like 9K, hit numerous potholes at like 70KM/h and did a few small jumps (an afterthought, saw the bit of a hump coming and gunned it and pulled up, got it off a little I believe), as well as riding over curbs and sidewalks. It has held up, I am way harder on this thing then on my street bike. I am sort of testing it, so far so good :D

The moped held up fine, the work bench was only about 3 feet high.
I just had it on its stand and revved it up then pushed it forward and rode it off.
I had been working on it and needed to test it-. (Hmm maybe that WASNT the proper test procedure now that I think about it-it passed just the same)
It was fun but dangerous.
Only did that once, not so much because of the danger more because ....well.....I didnt want to lift it up onto the work bench again.

I cant believe you road the moped off a work bench... My friends little brother just got a moped and I road it up my steps and wheelied off the porch but it was only 10inchs high.
I ride Trials on a mountain bike and have tryed it on my friends yamaha 175 moto trials bike but its a lot different. I dropped 5 feet with it once but you hit fairly hard. I have been riding it a little bit latley and trying to get over some big logs and the other day I managed to get over one that was a little over 3 feet tall. Nothing like the good guys but I was excited about it.
In PA I saw the #1 USA MOTO Trials rider ride up the back of a full size van! It was crazy! You should try that on the moped!!!

yeah, I drove it off the work bench but it wasnt like I had all my weight on it so it was just mostly the moped weight. It really wasnt a big deal.
We had more fun testing the stability of the various rented golf carts on tall dewy grassy hills (at night) than anything except the tennis ball wars, oh the tennis ball wars were the most fun.
Anyway back to the subject, today we went riding, we took the wifes raptor and my lf200.
My bike held up just fine even though I dont think I was as hard on it as I was on the wifes bike a few weeks ago.I did fall once (damn sand-) and I had to adjust the rear brakes because they were dragging which made it hard to ride in the sand with the rear tire dragging.
After the fall we had to return to the truck to straighten out the shift lever.I just took it off, vise griped it to my wheel chock on the trailer and used two adjustable wrenches to straighten it.I never straighten them on the bike they seem to break easy at the weld when on the bike.
I was thinking today that my bike is geared to high (1st & 2nd, hardly ever 3rd) for trail riding, to heavy for trail riding and has terrible tires for trail riding of course it's mostly do to the spot we were riding at, it is just about all deep sand and more suited to ATV's.
My bike is great in tight trails with a relatively hard packed surface.
Actually on the way back to the truck I was running down a straight road of sand and it was doing great as long as I was on the throttle, I had up around 40mph or so.
We really need to take more pictures of the ride spots.

Great I am not the only one that beat up my bike today  Sounds like You had fun Jim. I tested my bike on small jumps today, I doubted the China bike but You guys convinced me to have some faith.
*Keep in mind I have not jumped a bike in over 13 years*
I snuck my bike on public roads over to my friends house...There is a great trail behind the house. It has ruts and jumps and an old pond to launch into and out of. I decided to see if it could do the jumps..Little ones at first..I got a few inches off the ground no problems. So I got a little more faith in the bike and went higher..Maybe 12 inches high..Nice and smooth..No problem..I stopped after about a couple two maybe three footer jumps..The bike hit smooth and landed smooth...Not even close to extreme riding, But I trust my bike a lot more.. The bike did fairly well..Even for being so heavy. Nice ride except for when I screwed up and the bike bucked off a jump..
Almost lost it on that one.

Glad to hear you guys are pushing your bikes and finding out what they really can handle.
It seems to me that as long as you land on a landing ramp then jumping your bike would not be that big of a deal. you dont hit hard if you land right, however if you cased the jump then you bike might explod!
Thanks for all the replys! I am getting more excited about getting a china bike!

Even at 10-15mph you can split your head wide open, all it takes is a simple fall in the wrong spot and WHAM-your head looks like its been in a galagher comedy bit.
Where we ride they (the DNR) cut the trails thru the woods and they leave these little tiny STUMPS all over the place and even at low speed if one of those hooks your footpeg it could send you to the ground FAST.
Rocks, tree stumps, tree roots, ruts, mud, sand, gravel can all cause a spill very easlily. Its what makes offroading fun for me.

Well this thread made me want to go out in the yard and get some pics - they aren't of the greatest quality, just used my little helmet cam. (sorry about the high grass too) Also notice I'm not going high at all and this bike lands hard - I would not consider this a jumping bike.
Last pic is the same jump on my KX125 - I was hoping you could see the difference a real MX bike can make, even on such a small jump.

Yeah, probably about right - still this isn't really a jump, just a pile of dirt outside of a corner on the little churned up track I have in the yard for practicing turns. Still, the KX doesn't even feel a jump like that and the Hensim schmacks and thuds. I have video of it all, but stills work better - the video goes by too fast I think.

I've jumped it a few other times, but mainly the only time the wheels leave the ground on the Hensim is when going over drop offs on the trail. It has shown no reason for me to think it won't take the abuse, I just choose not to do it -- I get plenty of air on my KX out at the MX tracks, so no real need to push the china bike.

I have purchase all my safety gear off ebay. I just bought a new snell/dot approved Fulmer helmet for $45 shipped. It even matches my jacket. $97 shipped.
I have bought used off-road riding boots and chest protector and a HJC helmet that was worn once. All for less than $100.

Should hit one my jumps out on my track. I FLY HIGH!! Its steeper than a back flip ramp. This jump done thousands of dolars worth a damage to my quad over the past couple years but only because I over shoot the landing.

Ya, That would break a China bike in Nanoseconds...Along with the rider

ya but mine wasnt a china bike. I remember having stock shocks and over shooting the landing 2 years ago at about 50mph 3rd gear and when i landed the quad bounced back up in the air and my legs came up over my head. The lower A-arms then where bent upword. Shortly after my axle broke. Broke a yamaha rapter 660's frame on this jump in 3 spots to along with 1 front shock. bike/quad Gota be race ready for this jump.

You should throw some pics of You jumping in the Misc or ride reports section of the site...Maybe even some video..It's not Chinese related but You should be safe in the Misc section.

I dont have any pics of me hitting that jump or really hitting any jump. I used to but then the computer got a vires and every thing was earaced and i never got any pics of me riding after that. THe camera was only out their 1 time and that day one of my wheele bearings went really bad so I couldnt hit that jump because the play in the wheel would have snapped it off.

I am learning as I go, They seem to be great all around..BASIC bikes.
You can do a little of everything..But to much will cost ya. So far I am very happy with my bike....Lots of fun. I had a friend who did MX..Crazy MO FO....I like the more mellow riding at my tender age

I hear ya there -- I'm so much more mellow now than I was 20 years ago. I don't race anymore, just like to practice. A lot of the guys in the vet classes are just as crazy now as they were back then, plus it's cheaper and you get more seat time on practice days.
My china bike was bought for trails - and it is great for that purpose.

I paid about $35 for a worn once HJC, but that helmet is better than no helmet. Ebay gets alot of my money, but also makes me alot of money.

I've jumped mine, we got it 4 or 5 feet off the ground. The chain pops off everytime we jumped it, just like a bicycle chain. And the seat broke off on a landing. Dont recommend jumping these things.

what bike do You have? Seems like it was landing very hard......
I was up about four feet and had none of those problems.

I think if you want a good comparison; would you jump a Suzuki DR200 or the Yamaha TW200? Maybe on occasion, but those are not made for jumping, and they cost $3-4K.

If you broke the seat upon landing, does that mean you stayed sitting on the seat?

S_FLeX I got to ask "have you checked your engine mounting bolts"
If the chain is coming off after a jump you may have sheared an engine mounting bolt or two/three.
I can say that after I rebolted ours that they can withstand a lot more abuse than they ever could with the stock engine mounting bolts.
I just got back home from another brutal ride on mine and will have to give it a bath and a good once over but I feel confident that all will be good.
With some prep these things are fairly durable
I would love to have a get together ride weekend here in michigan as there are really some decent trails up north here.
You dont have to beat on your bikes here but sometimes I just have to leave the wife behind in the whooped out sections.
My favorite trails are the ATV width(50" or less) tree lined, tight, winding, hard packed dirt trails under a canopy of various types of tree's with lots of obstacles thrown in like stumps, rocks, roots, mud puddles, logs, branches and fleeing wild life.
We see deer, birds, squirrels, wild turkeys, frogs and some porcupines and bunnies, never chase them but always fun to see them.

Never thought to look at the Engine mounts, explains it though. I'll look at it this week. When I jumped I was standing up but it has those tiny little footpegs and I usually slipped off and ended up on the seat.

I know first hand from my wifes bike which had a very loose chain and when we got down there to adjust it we seen the lower rear bolt that had broken which allowed a lot of slop in the chain.
I hate those tiny footpegs and have been meaning to add a little bit to them.
