Hello everyone...
New guy here. Just ordered a DB-P12 from powersportsmax and thought i would report on my experiences throughout the process. Unlike a few other users i've read about, i have had no trouble reaching anyone at powersportsmax. I have called them 5 times prior to ordering and once after ordering. Only once did they not answer the phone. And in fairness to them i called during thier lunch time. Regardless they have been very curtious and answered all my questions in a reasonable manner. So anyway...I ordered my bike on thursday June 28th late in the day...and tuesday the 2nd I called to get the tracking number (at their recomendation)...and it had already shipped from cali...on its way to me in mass. That is pretty fast processing from all the posts i have seen all over the internet about PSM and many other companies. it remains to be seen if i will have a lot of trouble tagging the bike here in mass. We'll see? And of course the MSO and the BOS are the wildcards?
So I will of course post all the details when the bike arrives...and i look forward to asking many questions and hopefully getting many answers from all you knowledgable folks.
Thanks...
Alex

No tach, no rack... good price, plus I really like the style. Overall it looks like a pretty good deal as long as you didn't get roo-roo'd on the shipping.
Anyhoo, congrats! You'll enjoy the heck out of it. Now run out and buy a tube of loc-tite and some oil....

Yeah...i wanted a tach...but could live without. The only thing I really wanted was a rack...but i like the styling and features of the DB-P12 so much more than anything else out there...that i thought i would just add my own rack.
Actually their shipping cost is among the best...$199.00 including residencial & lift gate service. Plus 4-7 day shipping. That rocks from what i've seen and heard among other distributors. It all comes out to be about the same cost of all the less expensive dealers...but the added residencial and lift gate service...plus quick shipping puts it over the top...
So far so good as the title of this topic says...
Thanks for the comment...

Where in Mass?
I checked out their website.
Nice bike and inexpensive.. However it is identified as a dirt-bike. Which means the MSO may come with the phrase "Dirtbike for offroad use only"
That may pose the largest obstacle to registering it in Mass.. When you ask for the MSO you can ask them to put "Motorcycle" under body type... that would help your cause, but as they do advertise it as a dirt bike you may not be able to get them to do that. Anyway keep us posted on what happens, post your registry experience under the registration issues section so other people in Mass can learn from you..
Glad to see another New Englander on board.
Keep us posted.

Howdy NET,
I'm in western mass...in the berkshires. I'm pretty sure their aren't too many other china bikes around here...but i could be wrong?
Anyway...PSM has an MSO request form on their website that the buyer fills out after they receive the bike. I will be sure to ask for the body type to be listed as MOTORCYCLE!!
I also may receive an MSO within the shipping carton....i guess i'll find out soon enough...
Thanks again for your advice..and your comments...

Great riding out in the Berkshires.. I grew up in Lenox and used to like going over October mountain and coming in behind the Farnum dam on trails, I wonder if the dam is still there..
You'll have lots of good places to ride out there.
I think there is a Lifan dealer in Sheffield, MA, at least that was according to a member who bought two Lifans there..

hey guys...the bike arrived about an hour ago...i just got done extricating it from its crate...I took a bunch of pics of it during this process. I will also document the rest of the assembly. The bike arrived perfect...although the box took a couple hits in shipping, the bike was perfect. It looks awesome!!
I am also surprised to see a 169FML engine in it rather than the 163FM it was listed as having. Anyone have any info about the 169FML motor as opposed to the 163FM? The 169 is a lifan right?
Also, the bike had a small (easily removed :) ) sticker on the back fender that said "for offroad use only"...and the temp MSO that was included says dirt bike on it...but my buddy next door with a few enduro's seems to think I won't have any trouble getting a reg...we'll see...
Anyway...i will try to post pictures from work tonight...I only have another hour or so to futz with this thing before work...
So far so good...

Alex,
Glad to hear you got your bike and in one piece. Great question about the engine number. I posted a question in the Misc section about engine numbers as there is a variety of engine numbers and Im hoping to get a consolidated definition of their differences.
Let us know how it fired up and how everything is going. Oh... and a ride report after you take her up over October Mountain lol..

Ok guys...here are the first pics i took today upon recieving and decrating my new DB-P12 from Powersportsmax.com. So far everything has been great...from purchase to delivery...it has been fast and friendly. The bike is everything i wanted and more. Although i still haven't finished putting it together yet or starting it yet...so far I am very satisfied.
Here are a few items i had wondered about prior to buying the bike that were not listed...i am listing them for those of you considering purchasing this great looking bike....i hope it helps your decision.
1) The bike has the 169FML engine (not the 163FM as in the listing)
2) It is a 5 speed bike...the shift pattern is 1 down...4 up...
3) It has a 9L fuel tank...with 1.1L reserve
4) It is made by "Chongqing Shineray Motorcycle Manufacturing Co.,Ltd."
5) It's very big!!
6) It looks great...nice styling!!
I'll post more info later...that's all i can think of for now!!
Anyway...here are the first pics i took of it today...i'll post more as i finish assembly and start using it...

It's looks like a much better bike than mine is. All the issues I have with mine appear to be much better on this bike. The battery is under the seat, better footpegs and passenger pegs, the plastic looks much better, and the headlight looks awesome. How's the rear suspension work?

Hey Guys,
I finally got all the assembly done...and the battery charged today...but then had to go into work. I just got back from my dinner break and I ripped home to at least spend a little more time with my new baby...lol. Anyway, I tested all electrical systems and everything is working perfectly. I drained the shipping oil and replaced it with some 10w40. All that is left is to fill it with gas (93oct)...and i should be good to go. Probably gonna try to fire it up tonight when i get home.
Also, i thought i would respond about the plastic quality. It seems fantastic. Very spongy and forgiving...not hard, stiff, or brittle at all.
Fully assembled the bike is stunning...i'm psyched. Anyway i'll report how the starting and hopefully breaking in portion goes. And of course a bunch of new pics of it in all its glory and pics of it in use, hopefully 8O . Then on to the registering phase.
Thanks for all the kind words about the bike. It's very reasuring to have so many active and knowledgable users frequenting this forum...thanks again everyone!!

It's kinda hard to type right now...i'm giddy...like a kid in a candy store. I just came in from finishing up the fluids and firing it up for the first time. It ran kinda rough for a minute or two then chilled out and i took for a spin up the block. What can I say...it simply rocks!! Tons of power...and plenty fast for the little bit of city driving I plan to use it for. This is a big bike...it barely sags at all when i get on it..and i'm 6'...230lbs (and falling  )...i'm sure i could carry a 150lb "friend" with ease.
This bike is everything that was advertised and actually much more. The plastic is not painted but fully molded color embedded. It is very flexible and would seem to be long lasting. I have used a million plastic products throughout the years...and these feel as good as the best i've seen. The bike is not loud at all...especially at idle (although i may have to adjust the idle up a bit). I only got to ride it about 1/2 mile cause it's almost 2am here..and the houses close by are probably not too happy with me right now...lol 8) . Powersportsmax...did everything they said..and the bike arrived in a fairly quick time frame and in great shape. i'm very pleased with the transaction.
My god...this is a lot of bike for $800 clams, plus $199.00 shipping. Too good to be true. And yes...the only thing i wish it had is a rack on the back...but big deal...it has every new feature on the most expensive china bikes made and then some!!
No Tach...No Rack...but they must be on Crack...to sell a bike like this for so little!!
So i'm of course gonna keep you guys up to date on the status of this bike....but for now...here are the pics i took of the bike after coming back from my quick ride...it's as awesome as it looks!!

Nice ride. Glad to hear we have another choice in the China Bike market. Good source for better plastic and those dual exhausts really look cool. The front fender / headlight is MUCH improved. BTW that 169 fml motor IS pushrod, not OHC. It has a bigger bore, shorter stroke so it's gonna feel a little less touquey then the 163fml, but should have a little better top end. Great bike, congrats!!!

I took the bike out on the streets today...mainly to try to get it registered with the temp MSO...and a printed reciept (not BOS) from PSM's website. I know 8O ...but i wanted to test the legal waters. I was easily able to get insurance for it at my local mom and pop insurance agency. But i was not so lucky at the registry. All is not lost though...the registry simply wanted an MSO on legal "security paper"...it must list the number of cylinders (not the B009 it currently lists)...it must have my name as name of purchaser included on the front...and it must have the business address listed under the "USTITAN". Neither my insurance co. nor the registry had a big problem with the "dirt bike" body type. So i'm hopefull...
The bike ran great for the two hours i was out on it...i put on about 12 miles...very cool!! several people came up to ask me about it...lol...

While i'm at work and not riding the bike (bummer), i thought i would answer a few of the questions some of you have asked.
1) <[edcole]...I am curious as how it is going to sound when it is running with 2 mufflers.>
-It sounds great...not very loud at all...at least not at all compared to the 2 strokes and hogs that go ripping up and down my road all day long.
2) <[madmaximum]...hmmm, check out the name on the MSO & think about it for a minute......>
-What does this mean? Do you know something i don't?
3) <[SamM]...How's the rear suspension work?>
-It works the same as most other bikes...coiled shock and swing arm...it is great...i had it on some pretty knotty trails today...and it was not quite a cadillac ride...but pretty close...lol...I'll take some close up pics as soon as i get a chance.
4) <[kczukiman]...Is there a weight limit on a bike like that?>
-I think the listed weight limit is 350lbs...but i'm sure i could handle more...
5) <[AZ200cc]...Only one question left..And it will have to wait until after it's broken in to answer....Top speed?>
-Well I couldn't tell you that yet...but I had it up to 65kmph today..that is 40.39mph...it could have easily done 80km and more if i pushed it...but not yet...lol...
Great site for conversion of km to mph: http://www.eforecourt.com/mph_kph_speed_convert.htm
6) <[goldshadow]...How tall is the seat on it?>
-The seat is 34.25" high about an inch or two higher than most...
7) <[Savage]...Looks like it has a nice, thin LED taillight - does it?>
-Yes...it is very thin...looks totaly cool...but still quite bright and easy to see...
8 <[Savage]...Oh and the important question is; will it make it getting legal? I hope so>
-Me too...i'm working on it...PSM says they will get me the properly filled out MSO next week...so my fingers are crossed. They were completely willing to listen to what i needed the MSO to say according to my DMV...PSM said no problem...we'll see...

parallax,
A couple more questions for you...
1. How many teeth are there on the rear sprocket? Front also if it's not too much trouble.
2. How is the padding on the seat? Think you would be comfy after a couple hours?
I'm almost sold, just want to hear good words about MCO & registration (as I'm sure you do!).
Thanks in advance,
Drew
P.S. I found the same bike for $1 more here - http://www.bike2go.com/product_info.php/products_id/604
Never heard of them although the site is a near copy (or vice-versa) of powersportsmax.com
Are the exhaust cans marked "USFS Approved Spark Arrestor"?
parallax
07-14-2007, 06:13 PM
The mufflers do not say "USFS Approved Spark Arrestor".
I'm not sure how many teeth are on the sprockets...will check later and get back to you...
The padding on the seat is pretty good...i put another 2 hours on it today and was very comfortable.
I also found that website that looks almost exactly like PSM...but since they didn't have any of the other info on the website including more pictures...and i had never heard anything about them...bad or good...i didn't bother with them.
I clipped a tree today lightly and the right side mirror glass poped out of the holder and hit the ground and cracked!!
So on to ebay to grab another pair...lol..
I also hit some jumps pretty hard today and managed to compress the front end almost all the way...in doing so the right plastic fork guard clipped the right side front fork license adapter and a small portion of the plastic was sheered off by the plate adapter...argghhh...no biggie...but i guess i was riding too hard...and my perfect bike is now not perfect. Given, these problems are very small and almost meaningless...but still...lol
Lessons learned:
1) Remove the mirrors when you go trail riding!!
2) Don't compress the front end completely (lol)
3) Remove the front plate adapter if not in the UK...
4) This bike can handle rough riding with ease...small jumps are no problem!!
Here are a couple pics of the rear shock system as requested...

I'm so happy right now!!!
SPEEDEE IS REGISTERED!!!
I have to start by saying that I have no affiliation with Powersportsmax!!
Powersportsmax has been absolutely flawless in this transaction...in fact they have gone way beyond even what a local mom and pop dealer could deliver...let me explain...
I called them monday to send me an MSO for my new bike that has to meet the following requirments:
1) Must be on security paper
2) Must list the proper number of cyclinders
3) Should say Motorcycle as body type
4) Must have the dealers name and address listed on the front of MSO
5) Must have dealers name, license number and signature as well as odemeter statement signed by dealer and my name and signature on back.
Juan at PSM said no problem to any of these requirments. Also I told him I wanted it overnighted to me (for $30.00). He said no problem. And guess what...he did exactly what i asked of him.
I got the perfectly filled out MSO and BOS today overnighted to me...and i went down to my local DMV and after a bit of hemming and hawing...i now have a new tag on my bike.
WHOOOHOO!!! I'm Legal!! 8)
Wait its gets even better!!
I mentioned in an earlier post that i had damaged my right side mirror, as well as sheared off a portion of my right side plastic fork cover. Well on a whim after speaking with Juan I asked him to transfer me to the parts dept. I told them i needed to get a few parts...he simply asked me what i needed...i told him a new right side mirror...two front fork covers...and a new battery as my current one doesn't hold a charge.
He said ok, no problem..those will be on their way to you today...you should have them in a week...and guess what...free of charge!!!!!!! (not even a shipping fee!!)
Oh my god...who does this? These guys are top notch sales, service, support...all the way!! Thank you PSM!!!
All that is left is to have my local cycle shop inspect my bike and i'm all set...I have 7 days to do that...
Ok guys i'm not saying your experience will be as good as mine...i'm simply saying what my experience with PSM has been like.
I can also say that I love this bike...cruising around town today I had it up to 80kmph...that's 50mph...it had a lot more nut if i needed it...but that was all i wanted to push it to yet...
I will post a few pics of the new plate (for proof)...as well as the sheared front fork cover...as well as the MSO showing the proper way to have it filled out...and if i have time i'll count those teeth on the rear sprocket...I would have to take off the front sprocket cover to even be able to see that one...so I'm not gonna do that yet...
Anyway...i'll post a little later tonight...
Happy days...
Alex

I took the bike about an hour away today (that's an hour each way)...and it's top speed is about 65mph...on a flat road. The bike was fine...didn't vibrate too much at all...ran great.
My spedo started acting squirly on the way home...that is the only issue i have had. Will check it out later. I haven't had it inspected yet. Will do that next week. I have been riding around everyday since i got it...and now i ride it to work as well...put about 110 miles on it so far...gotta change oil tomorrow... 8)
The seat height is pretty tall...I'm 6' and stand on my toes on it with both feet on the ground. Actually I don't mind at all...it feels fine...

Yup...the 75-700 kit is the generic kit...
I spoke with Trail Tech about it...they said the new version of the kit comes with an air temp sensor for non liquid cooled bikes like ours...it attaches in place of the spark plug washer...replacing the washer that is there.
So that is cool!! Or hot...whichever you like!

Didn't get it yet but...
It's not PowersportsMax.coms' fault!
I live in a really remote area 65 miles from the nearest large city which is Las Vegas. PowersportsMax.com contracted DHE trucking to deliver my bike and they picked it up in L.A., took it to Sacramento (foul ball). When it didn't show up all week I called DHE Wed. and they said I would get it Friday, when I called Friday they were very evasive about the whole thing. Monday I finally got through to someone high enough up to find out what was going on. Apparently once it got to Sacramento they THEN discovered that they don't service southern Nevada!?! 8O :x  Needless to say, I was VERY upset! 4 days off work for nothing!
It is supposed to be delivered back to PowersportsMax.com by noon tomorrow (Aug. 1st) where I assume (always a bad thing) that PowersportsMax.com has arranged for another carrier. DHE said I'm supposed to call PowersportsMax.com after noon to find out what's what.
PowersportsMax.com did not return calls I made during this time (strike 1), but they were in contact with DHE trying to work out an alternative with them (Ball 1). DHE only said that they could not fulfill the contract and they were returning the shipment (unsportsmanlike behavior, tossed out of game) and that I should contact PowersportsMax.com after noon tomorrow. Again I have to assume () that PowersportsMax.com didn't call me back because they were still trying to work it out.
I'll let everyone who's interested in this know what I find out tomorrow. I also plan to make a full report in the 'Dealer Discussion' forum once it is all resolved, one way or the other.
parallax

Ouch...that is terrible!!
I hope you get it all worked out...it doesn't sound like it is PSMs fault...but i guess the trucking company should have said they don't service your area up front...that's just rediculous!!
Call PSM...i'm sure they will work with you to get it all right...
They've been pretty good to me...i can't imagine that i am the anomaly...
Keep us informed...and if there is anything i can tell you about the bike to hold you over till you get it, let me know...
Fingers crossed for you...
Seems like DHE should just find a trucking company that does service your area, and eat the cost.
It would probably be cheaper for them, and better for you, than shipping it back to PSM.

Well... Tried calling again today. No answer and the voicemail box was full.
Submitted a fresh "ticket" email through their site...
"Hi guys,
I'm trying to stay positive here but you have not answered my calls for 5 business days now. I know this shipping screw up was NOT your fault. I would just like some contact with you guys to make me feel better, just to hear you say that we are working on it is enough for now. I may be able to help by picking it up from a terminal in Las Vegas or Henderson, Nevada. I'm sure it would be a lot easier to find an LTL carrier to a major hub rather than my remote address.
Please, please contact me. I'm not hard to deal with, I'm not going to rant and rave. I live in a rural area, this is not the first time I've had trouble getting something delivered. It is however the first time a company has not responded to my calls.
Drew Vroman
702-3XX-X9X"
This is the response I got about a half hour later...
"Dear customer,
I am very sorry for your problem,i have checked your order, the shipping company said can't ship to that place and they return it to the SM manufacturer,i will notify our manager ,and then give you an early reply.
Sorry,
PowersportsMax.com Service"
Sender name was listed as Orrise. Juan was the one dealing with DHE. Orrise obviously didn't know about my situation previously. :?
I'll call this 'ball 2' but it was a checked swing and could have easily been called strike 2 by a less forgiving umpire! :( :( :(
Thus the saga continues... Keep your fingers crossed for me please. :)

08-01-2007, 09:32 PM
I thought usually there would be a phone number/contact number for both sender and reciever so contact could be attempted to avoid such things as "sending an item back".
Also, to be addressed as "Customer" seems very generic..... Sorry to hear of your trouble. Good luck.

mrhyak,
The original bill of lading has both addresses and phone #'s. Nobody called me, I had to call them (the freight co.). They picked the bike up on the 23rd apparently without checking the address.
Update:
I just now got a final update from DHE (the freight co.) that included a scan of the 'no service area' notice to Deeal Inc, (PowersportsMax.com) They knew they had screwed up on the 26th, AND they had the %alls to charge Deeal Inc. $127 bucks for the round trip (Whittier, CA to Sacramento, CA and back again)! Bet I'm their favorite customer right now  :?

Franco is THE MAN!!!
Franco is the guy at PowersportsMax.com that I originally talked to right before I ordered. Today he called me to say that they were sorry and would be crediting my account a full refund. I was bummin' and asked him if there was any other option, could I pick it up at their warehouse (no), could they ship it to another city such as St. George, Utah (about 3 hours north of me)? Franco said "St. George?", yeah I could drive up and pick it up from a terminal... So Franco said "let me check on that possibility, I'll call you back in a few minutes".
About 15 minutes later Franco called me back and said that the freight company that could do St. George didn't have a terminal there and they can only deliver to commercial addresses. Guess what? I live at a commercial address! "Can they deliver here if it's a commercial address", I asked, "let me put you on hold while I check" he says...
A minute or two went by and Franco comes back on the line, "Good news! They will pick it up tomorrow before 3 PM and you should get it Monday or Tuesday, you should get a new tracking# by Friday evening." (it's going, going, looks like a Home Run, bottom of the 9th, score tied 0-0, this could be the game winning hit!). :D :D :D :D :D
Whew, that was a close one! Cause I really want that 'Speedee'!!!
O.K. so we'll see if it really happens this time. Just to reiterate PowersportsMax.com was NOT responsible for the shipping foul up. They processed my order very quickly (ordered on Fri., shipped on Mon.) but were slow to respond to me once there was a problem. To be fair, I believe that they were trying to find an alternative way to get it to me.
I'll post again when I get a confirmed tracking #.

I was impressed with Franco. He seemed genuinely sad that they would not be able to fulfill my order and jumped at the opportunity to find a solution that was 'outside the box'.
Why didn't you have them ship it to your commercial address to begin with?
They have an account with Dependable (yeah, right.) Highway Express and apparently use them pretty much exclusively. By filling out a bill of lading, picking up the freight and providing a tracking #, they essentially said they would deliver to my address. It was only after they had wracked up some charges that they decided to inform PSM & myself that they could not deliver on their contract. DHE didn't care what my address was "no LTL service to southern Nevada" period. PSM is using an alternative carrier that only does commercial.
I have a very unusual address, we live in employee housing of the Echo Bay Resort & Marina inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. My wife is the Hotel Manager. All the mail and normal (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) packages go through the administration building. Everybody here (about 120 employees) has the same address, which is a commercial address, and we pick up our mail/packages at the administration building. When the driver calls, I am hoping to convince him of the commercial nature of the employee housing, but if all else fails I will get a few volunteers to help me load it in our Suburban and transport it the 1 mile from admin. to our house.
Thanks for all the support!!!

As a former commercial long haul truck driver I think I can help here. A driver has two things on his mind. 1. How quickly and easily can I get unloaded so I can get my next load and start earning money again? 2. Can I safely and easily turn the truck around?
If there is a loading dock with a forklift, I am very happy. Quick turn around and an area designed for semis. If it is any other type of building I start to worry. When you speak to the driver assure him that you understand his needs and are prepared. Let him know that there is a way for him to get turned around weather it is a large parking lot or if going around a block is an option. Residential neighborhoods are not good places to try to turn a truck. With a 52’ trailer I need about 22’ to keep from pulling the trailer wheels over a curb and taking out a stop sign.
Also assure him or her that you will have enough help to move and lift at least 500lbs from shoulder height to the ground. Do not expect help from the driver. If a driver is expected to help unload cargo they charge a “Lumping fee†it varies by region in NY it is about $300.00 per hour in Florida $80.00 an hour and that was 10 years ago.
His company may have a policy of only allowing cargo to be removed at a dock. That is a concrete pad that is level with the back of the trailer. If that is the case you may have to work something out with the driver directly or locate a company that has a loading dock you can barrow for a half hour. It is totally possible, try local news paper, they receive large rolls of paper and may want to do a story about the China Bike revolution.
I don’t want to scare you I just want you to be prepared. With foresight and ingenuity any problem can be overcome. Any one else ordering a drop shipped bike to a residence should specify final delivery by a lift gate trailer. The drivers of lift gate trucks are prepared to unload and the truck is usually smaller. Anther option most of us have would be to rent a Uhaul/Rider truck and go to the truck depot. They can fork lift it right down into it. Call first to find out minimum deck height, roof height and width clearances. Bike, Lawn,Garden trailers just don't work well the fork lift can not lower the pallet down to it. The trailer is just to low.

Thanks for the info Polygon,
Our housing area is a big loop with plenty of room for a semi to get through. I plan to have 3-5 guys to help me get it out of the truck, I already knew the drivers usually don't help.

It's an '87 - from back when they were still 'real' trucks not just oversize SUV's! Haven't had the back seat in in years. It has the side by side rear doors with a huge opening. Crate is only 34.25" tall (room to spare).
But... If it doesn't fit there are plenty of open pickups here, I'm sure I can get a volunteer. We are a close knit community far from the real world so everyone helps each other out when needed.
I'm still hoping to get it dropped at our house.

Drew,
From my experience:
Life is so much easier if when the truck shows up at the address you can be there with a pick up truck to back right to the truck and drop the crate in the the bed. I did this with my last delivery, had an idea of the time, had a friend standing by with the pickup and 2 buddy's, we walked it right into the back of the pickup and drove off.. Your Suburban would be good if you can walk the crate onto the top of the roof. But consider your dropping this 300+lb crate from a significant height and hope it fits.. into your suburban at the angle you dont know.. If the delivering truck has a lift gate you may have a chance... If not, I would highly recomend someone with a pickup truck hanging out with you on delivery day..
You could also consider a flat bed tow truck to be available if you have one nearby.
Good Luck getting your goods... From my trips up to Hoover dam I suspect you have some good riding area's lined up.... Always left the area unfulfilled as there seemed to be so many good places to just get offroad and explore... Too many blue hairs with me last time up there with an actual 4wd vehicle.. A dual sport would be sweet...

Hey Drew, does anyone around you have a utility trailer? That's what we unloaded my bike onto. The utility trailer is low enough to make unloading off of it easy for one person. (my trailer tilts like a dump truck). Maybe the grounds maintenance guys have one? If they do just ask them, you might get lucky.

WHen we get something heavy we just back the a pickup near the trailer..The driver lowers the liftgate right onto the tailgate....rolls the pallet on with his pallet jack and PRESTO...Works everytime.

Guess you guys aren't reading or didn't understand the part of my post on page 7 explaining where I live. Our home is a commercial address owned by the major resort where my wife is the Hotel Manager. It shouldn't be a problem for the driver to let me unload in front of my house. This will also save him 2 miles (and a steep hill) on the trip.
The Suburban/truck thing is just a backup plan if the driver doesn't understand that the entire property is leased from the Federal Gov. on a commercial basis and insists on delivering to the Administration/boat shop building. We have at least 20 people here with pickups. There is also a forklift & cube van that I can probably use if needed.
I'm 44 years old and this is not the first time I have received a large freight item. I appreciate the concern but unloading the truck is NOT the problem, getting someone to deliver to our remote commercial address has been the problem.
By the way, I did not receive a new tracking # today as promised so please excuse me for sounding a bit harsh. It's been a very stressful 2 weeks of waiting and wondering.

Yeah, that's what surprized me. You hear so much about the crappy internet dealers and seldom anything about the good ones. It sounds like Powermax is really trying to get Drew's bike to him. It would have been easier for them just to cancell the order and refund his money, but they didn't.

Well it looks like the great shipping drama may be nearing the end!
My bike is in Las Vegas (65 miles away) and the agent/trucker who is handling the final delivery is supposed to call me 1 hour before delivery which will be either this afternoon or tomorrow.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
PowersportsMax.com when above and beyond to make this delivery happen. They lost money on the first shipper who refused to deliver to my address. They then offered a full refund, but found an alternate when I told them I really just wanted the bike, not a refund. They are a bit lacking in the communication arena (they may just not have enough people) but once you get them on the phone they are GREAT, courteous, helpful and very understanding.
I'll start my own thread once I get it and I'll try to show everyone even more of the great features of this bike.
Thank you parallax for bringing this bike to my attention!
Thanks to everyone else who offered encouragement, advice and a shoulder to lean on!
Most of all, thanks to ChinaRiders. Without these forums I may not have taken the plunge.

These DB-P12's seem to be a cut above most of the others and they cost less too! :D
Just a little tip Robertlamont80: If you live in a rural area or the southwest, call PowersportsMax.com or Bike2Go.com (they are both owned by Deeal Inc.) and have them check with their freight company (Dependable Highway Express) if they will deliver to your address. If not they will find you an alternative carrier.
If you don't have them check first DHE will just pick it up and take it wherever for a week or so!

Hi Randy,
See picture # 12 on the first page of this thread. The plate attached to the bike clearly states that this bike is emissions compliant for "off-highway" use in California. When I was having my shipping problems I asked if I could pick the bike up at their warehouse. I was told that I could not, They can only ship to CA addresses.
My understanding on this issue (although I may be wrong 8O ) is that each bike has to be green stickered individually. The CA Jap bike dealers either do this in bulk or get it done for them by the manufacturers. This doesn't pay off for the smaller power sports dealers as the majority of their sales are in other states.
Nobody is saying that you would be able to get this bike registered or even green stickered in CA. But it is emissions certified so a green sticker should be doable. Registration is another matter, but their are people who have managed to get other China bikes registered in CA. You just have to be willing to take the chance and jump through all the hoops!
In your thread about CARB certification (http://www.chinariders.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2262&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=) this was stated by Brian...
The GY-5 from American Lifan is both EPA and CARB approved.
Thanks

thanks for the message desert_drew, but the lifan is not carb certified. brian was not sure. when i emailed american lifan shawn said they might be carb in 2008 but as of now no. i did see the sticker on the speedy and if i cant wait this is looking like my next bike. when i bought my hensim from sunny sports in irvine they did the dmv work for the green sticker. but its been 5 months and i still dont have it. they said the paperwork was lost inthe mail and resubmitted it. yea i know.

yeah, sometimes i feel like im the only one here trying to get a decient bike (for dirt) which has to be carbed. gets really frustrateing calling websites that think it doesnt matter but they can get in trouble selling to ca without the carb. and i will be stuck with a unregisterable bike.

randy
08-15-2007, 12:08 AM
it has to come carb certified from the factory. if the bike is only epa,dot or so called carb but not giveing the specs of emmision info on the sticker you wont get a green sticker saying you can ride offroad all year round.
