here the cdi on my zong. the old rubber band was falling apart, so here's the new one with a few zip ties. do you think it ought to be padded better? the vibration may contribute to its tendency to fail?

here s my new qarter throttle. the standard zong throttle had a three quarter turn.

I especially like the crankcase filter. How did you find a match for your bike?

Rubber band cracked on mine too. But when i got new cdi's i took the new rubber band and replaced it. You could try making something out of old bicycle tube.

Tell us more about this crankcase filter I've never seen it before. :hmm: Any noticeable improvements? I can also see that you wrapped your exhaust header.

Nice work, Zingshoen!

I think the rubber holder for the CDI unit provides a lot of vibration isolation, which helps to extend the CDI unit's life. I like the way you have reinforced your rubber holder, but I would not do anything to mount it more rigidly to the frame. ;)

I also like the right switchgear on your Australian version of the Zong. :) I might try to order the same switchgear for my U.S. version of the Zong. ;) Your Dunlop tires lood great as well!

thanks, guys. a zong rider always strives for perfection :) (even in imperfection) :lmao:

here s a link to the mini oil breather:

http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Calibre-Mini-Air-Breather-20mm-CALMAB20.aspx?pid=155194

it s not a K&N, I didn t remember until I had a closer look at it again. :hmm: it works, but it is a minor improvement and makes sense only if your remove all the emission gear and go for the simplified setup.

the exhaust wrap is good stuff. it reduces the higher frequencies in the exhaust sound and leaves the rumble. there are other benefits but they don t make a difference to me.

So, the filter attaches with a hose clamp?

I'm going to look for something similar; I think it's a good idea.

I purchased a crankcase breather like that for my Zong at my local Auto Zone for $10
