Sorry about the focus, the epoxy is curing on my home made lense setup so I had to make due.

The only thing keeping the rear suspension from compressing more was sheer spring pressure, I just couldn't get enough grunt on the ratchet strap to pull it down further. I double checked and there was absolutely nothing bindng.

EDIT: Ok, duh, I see now what I was missing earlier. In the compressed pic the linkage is nearly flattened out. That means the end of travel. That is a pretty crappy setup!

Yup, you hit the nail on the head. After about 3 inches of travel the bottom linkage is fully extended and the stock suspension is then basically a hardtail. That's why I did such a drastic modification to my Roketa. The stock design is rediculous, and like you said, pretty crappy!

I guess with the way it's made you really have to hit it kinda' hard before you feel it bottom out. It seems to have enough give in the linkage to cushion bottoming normally, that's why I didn't notice and though it was doing good....
Man, I have a lot to learn. This is the first dirtbike I have ever been on. I got to thinking last night, the 86 VT-700 I had was the latest model bike I have ever ridden, before that was a Seca Turbo (80~82??) with the bulk of my riding on 60's Triumph and Norton bikes and their clones (70's Honda CB's).

Looks a lot like my Maxfine/Quojos/Loncin? setup...It's a 2005 model..Next time I'll wash the mud off :lol:
