Hi all, been a while, not long ago bought a skyjet 125. Dead cheap and on a 2008 plate. Here in the uk. using the cg125 156fmi pushrod engine.

The bike was well worn covered 12 thousand miles already. but was in dire need of repair. The engine was wobbling around in the mounts when changing gears, later on investigation the mounts had broke from the frame. I have stripped the bike down to the frame and rewelded. also one of the mounts has cracked the case at the rear, I small puddle of oil under the engine. now fixed.

Whilst the engine was out, it was stripped down, split the case, and then tig`ed.

so here is the bike, when I got it.

Been buying new bits here and there, better bars and grips, 17t front sprocket, new chain, even new valves. as the old ones were pitted due to being badly adjusted.

You're really transforming that bike. I like the socket head cap screws on the rear sprocket; are they stainless?

another evening in the spare room. just finished installing the magneto cover and front 17 tooth sprocket, original was 16 tooth. should be slightly better for cruising. awaiting the 428 130 link chain in the post. next is the brakes.

Almost a whole bike again. What are you doing with the magneto cover?

As a point of interest, another fine member from the UK found an 18 tooth sprocket, but that might be a bit much for your application.

My headlight wouldn't fit like that around the clocks. Instead, I fabricated an aluminum frame and I mounted the signals to that. The headlight is quite far out front now, but it doesn't bug me.

ahh. my clocks are digital and the like it was made for the headlight. just the right shape. wraps around at the same angles. the rubber straps holds it quite snug.

You could always change the clocks for something bigger. perhaps with a rev counter too.

Took the jet out for a spin today, it feels great on the road. handles surprisingly good. the frame/forks and suspension make it very forgiving in the corners. Feels much more like a jap bike. The newer design frames are an improvement on the old sukida 125 I had.

I have a speedo that works, and I'm far too Scottish to change it.
