zong rear sprocket disc which?

Hello and after 3 years my zong 200gy needs replacement on sprocket discs and chain.
After ready the excellent presentation of Mr. Spud about the front sprocket, i found a little info about the rear disc, anyway just to ask here if this fits our zong

if you have something else to present please send here because here (greece) is a bit difficult to find some spare parts and i have to order from abroad.

i'll go for the long gearing 15 or14 front and 42 at the back. now my zong has the 42 at the back and 13or14 at the front and i believe is very short already. mainly i use it for the street, no off road use

The rear sprocket shown at your link will not fit your ZS200GY-2 motorcycle, George. :ohno:

Your Zong employs a front sprocket designed for the Yamaha TW200 motorcycle. Your Zong employs a rear sprocket designed for the Kawasaki BN125 motorcycle, JTR468.

Your stock, rear sprocket should have 46 teeth, not 42 teeth. If you want higher gearing for street riding, I recommend you install a 15T front sprocket with the stock, 46T rear sprocket. This is the sprocket combination installed on Zongs imported into the United States. ;)

In the United States, PBI manufactures a 15T sprocket for the Yamaha TW200 motorcycle.

You can also purchase the Parts Unlimited, #K22-2601C sprocket with 15 teeth. Finally you can purchase the Sprocket Specialists, #566-15 sprocket with 15 teeth. :)

thank you for the reply, i have read and understood the stock is 46 and not 42 just when i bought it as a second hand it has the 42 installed. im greatfull for your answer because the official dealer sells the 46teenth at 26 euro( 40usd about) instead of the link you provide me emoto at 18euro (30usd about). i will check with them next week.

The smaller bolts for the PBI sprocket work very well; they do not produce any free play with the sprocket retainer. You will be very happy if you select the PBI counter shaft sprocket. :)

finally i contact this shop, http://www.e-moto.gr/el/?keywords=JTR468 and has both 42 and 46 rear.
after changing engine oil yesterday and checking the sprockets, front it has 14 teeth and the back 42 at this moment from the previous owner. which i believe is already a bit short due to gasoline economy and vibrations.
So you recommend to go 15-46? and not 14-42 or 15-42.
15-46 it has any difference to 14-42? or is the same gearing? from your knowledge.

A 15T/46T sprocket combination will perform almost exactly the same as your current 14T/42T sprocket combination. The 15T/46T sprocket combination will probably extend the life of your drive chain a little longer. :) However, you will need to purchase a longer drive chain for the 15T/46T sprocket combination. ;)

I wouldn't recommend a 15T/42T sprocket combination; I think gearing that high will make fifth gear useless on your Zong. ;)

You won't have free play with 5x10 bolts. :tup:

I am currently running 16/46 and I am very happy with it. I used to run 15/46. :) It really depends on your terrain, how flat it is and your weight. I am slim guy and works fine for me. 15/46 is good too, but I found first gear to be really short. You will also need new gasket. I highly recommend left crankcase cover mod. ;)

I ordered 4 sprockets. 733-16 (3 qty) and 733-14 (1 qty). Total value was $45.80, very cheap. I ordered it in April of 2011 so it's been a while. Don't know if they still have any left and if they made more since.. I can see size 16t is listed on their website. Because they only made 10 at that time from my memory in size 16t.

Basically im 85 kilos (170-180 about pounds, fat bastard!) and the terrain is flat work-home and around, yes the first gear is very short even with gearing 14-42 as im now. when i go to mountain on tarmac 1 OR 2 a year at 30 degrees uphill it goes with 3rd gear very easy. lets go with 2nd.

If you want even higher gearing, you might as well stick with the 42T rear sprocket. :) We can't get a 42T rear sprocket in North America. ;) The 15T C/S sprocket is more common, and more easily obtained than the 16T sprocket, which is available only by special order from PBI. The 15T/42T gearing is a little higher than Pliskin's 16T/46T gearing. If you don't like the 15T/42T gearing, you can always drop back to your current, 14T/42T gearing. ;)

I ride my Zong off road a lot. Before I converted to an 18-inch rear wheel, I was employing a 13T/46T sprocket combination with the stock rear wheel. ;)

after some thinking i dicide to go with 16/46. im waiting the pbi 16 teeth front about 25 of august to arrive. the rear i'll purchase from here greece in a few days. when i change i will inform about results.
