hi iam new here but not to the gy 200 i am on my second chinese 200cc enduro i like these little bikes a lot but the one i have now is a huge headache to ride the vibration through the handle bars is driving me mad its that bad that i get painfull pins and needles in my hands and wrists after only ten mins of riding does anyone know of a solution the engine to me feels like its badly out of tune and splutters when shutting the throttle could this be causing excess vibration ? who knows ? i am thinking of making some bar risers out of hard rubber to cure the problem and filling the bar ends with lead weights. the vibration is also bad through the seat and footpegs help any advice greatly recieved the bike has 1025 miles on the clock and is an 06 british trackstar pushrod engine regards jg[/i]

check the motor mount bolts, when mine broke the bike vibrated like crazy, TeamCheap also redid his and said it made it even better, but if they're broken it will be really bad.

I wrote a thread earlier with the same issue. I couldn't really find any loose, but I loosened and re-thightened them anyway. I then discovered that the nut for the lower rear mount bold was missing. I replaced it, pyt about 75lbs on each mounting fastener, including where the brackets mount to the frame. I had to adjust the valve clearance, so I thought this would be a good time to try. I also noticed the two rear skid plate bolts had vibrated out, so I replaced those as well. I tightened everything, Took it outside and started it up, and the horrible vibration was gone (there's always a little to these though, it's natural), but the electric football game shake was gone.

So Jaygee, how's the situation?

I'll copy this from my thread:

I started this post awhile ago and I'm glad to say that I think I've finally taken care of all the abnormal vibrations this bike shouldn't have. I don't know if they'll stay gone but now I know where to fix them.

My last big vibration that was erking me off would happen every time around 4500-5k. After TeamCheap's educated guess I could see how that could be causing my problem. So I pulled 4 of the 5 engine mounting bolts (couldn't remove the top one) and applied High Temp Silicone to the bolts. Laid down 4-5 ribbons on each bolt, squirted some in the hole and then some between the nut and the frame. Tightened everything down and let set for 2-3 days.

Just took it for one short test ride around the block and everytime I would pass thru 5k, either up or down the nasty rattling was GONE!
How long it stays away - time will tell, but at least I know where my problem lies.

Savage, how will you know if they break now? I know every time my rear top mount bolt broke, because it would pop out part way (or all the way), plus the vibrations.... but with the silicone in there, won't it just break and stay put?

Who knows?

It cost me $2 to know exactly what was wrong with my bike though. I thought my engine was junk - come to find out it's just the engine bolts.

Some weekend I will probably replace them with a larger diameter bolt and put a dab of silicone for a little extra dampening.

Sounds like a good idea, I was just curious, cause aside of the vibrations, the thing that always tipped me off was the bolt sticking out a few inches ;)

ok thanks for all your replys time has been limited this weekend so i have tightened the engine bolts on the bike tonight none of them felt loose but i have swung off them as much as i dare i have found 2 screws under the front mudgaurd loose and the no plate is very loose need new bolts to secure the plate, i have scraped the hand gaurds and purchased some new wrap arounds i am going to fit them tommorrow afternoon and fit some lead in the bar ends maybe clutching at straws but bar ends are on road bikes to cut vibration down through the bars i am also going to look into the valve clearences see if nothing is amiss there so will let you know asap if problem is cured or its still like riding a road drill !!!

ok the gearing completly altered the bike now running 17 teeth front and 44 teeth rear i also found the valve clearences to be almost non existant so i have set at 2 thou inlet and 3 thou exhaust as i have read these sizes on a forum engine still feels tight will leave a couple of weeks then i will open them up a little does any one know wot they should be ? jg
