I have the opportunity to buy a 2007 Lifan LF200GY-5 for a good price. I've been searching the internet for parts and have found the typical chinese bike parts online as well as ebay motors. Does anybody know of storefronts that are still selling these bikes.

I tried to call Lifan America but the phone number on the website is disconnected. Just want to be sure I can reasonably maintain the bike.

Thanks

Welcome; we are glad you joined us. :hi: I moved your thread to the Dual Sport Forum, where it would get greater exposure. ;)

Besides the sources you mentioned, Hooper Imports also sells parts for that motorcycle. :)

Welcome. American Lifan is no longer. Hooper is a great source.

Honda can also be a source for some parts.

The GY5 is a good bike. Make sure that it has a title and the price should be under a $1000.

Thanks for your help. I am much more confident in the buy knowing I can get parts. This will be my first bike. I'm getting one as a learner.

Hello Everyone, this is my first post. A friend gave me a ragged out 2005 LF200GY-5 with title. An awesome deal. But, I'm having issues finding parts as well.

Hooper Imports seem to be sold out of almost everything. I emailed them to see if they are getting more parts in. I'll post the answer.

Another possible source is Endless Journey Cycles but they have no email address so I will have to call them later.

Any suggestions for what I start with to rebuild this bike?

And what oil filter / spark plugs do you use and where did you get them?

Thank you for your time, I greatly appreciate any help!

Welcome Travis.

Calling Bruce at Endless Journeys is the best way to reach him. He used to be active here, but have not heard from him lately.

GY5 does not have an oil filter. Just a screen you clean. Spark plugs available at auto parts stores.

I taped some neo magnets to the bottom of the sump pan to help pull shavings aside just to keep it a bit more clean.
