My Viva GY200 163FML OHV engine got about 60 mpg on the first tank of gas. All over the road driving 40-55 mph.
I am using 15w40 oil and the motor is still pretty tight.
What mileage are you getting?

Lifan GY-5 - mostly road driving. Mix of city and rural highway up to 65mph. And maybe a few an hour of slow dirt riding thrown in.
I have been getting 70 -75 mpg.
I have been quite surprised with my heavy throttle hand on the street. :D
42th rear sprocket probably helps a little.

Ditto for my Lifan. Last check was after I had burned most of a tank of gas in mixed rural riding and mileage was 74.8 mpg. Odometer accuracy was verified by gps. 46 tooth rear sprocket on this one.

Close to 80 mpg on my Diamo which has the OHC motor and a 44 tooth rear sprocket replacing the stock 54 which was ridiculous. It's all in town with very little out on the roads. Just can't bring myself to run it on the highway when I have an old GoldWing that gets 40 and a SV650 which gets high 40s. Something about the proper tool for the job, I guess. I see the Diamo more as a great around town bike which is most of my riding now days, and as an off road utility bike down on my place since I sold my 4x4 and have nothing else.

I adjusted the valves and got 65 mph on the last tank of gas. I just removed the baffle from the muffler and changed the carburetor settings also.
I think the catalytic converter may be to blame for the poor mileage. I am going to see how it runs with less exhaust restriction before I remove it though.

I get about 65MPG on mine as well.
BTW, I'm 6'3" and ~200lbs

Mine must be a true gas hog. I only eeked out a measly 58mpg on the 2cnd tank.

First tank about 66mpg. But that was during the breakin period where I drove somewhat uncharacteristicly with on-off throttle with load. I will check it again soon for milage since I now have about 350 miles on it.

73mpg when I checked again last night. I will check it once more now that I just drilled the baffle out last night.
Edit: Checked again at 80mpg with the baffles drilled. I guess I'll check again when I go with the pod type filter.

My Roketa DB-05 just turned 200 miles and I am currently getting 106 mpg. That is doing mostly light trail riding and staying under 35 mph. (still breaking it in)

Just my $ .02... Only my opinion.
Ride it like you stole it.... Use good oil, Clean the filter, change it frequently the first 1500 KM... Have fun....
I have broken in 3 bikes of different sizes like this and they run terrific... never burn oil, lots of power, great gas mileage. Locktite every bolt you can and check tightness frequently.

I second the ride it like you stole it method!
I also like the reasoning in the site you mentioned.
