Some of you may remember my inglorious dismount from my bicycle back in June. I ended up on my back, doing splits with my right heel touching my right shoulder blade.:wtf: Not a flattering position for an old bald guy. My knee swelled up quite a bit and was treated as a sprain. Well, still not pain free since June.
My Doc scheduled MRI Wednesday night, and results are in. Ligament tear, :tdown:among other things. Joy.
I will be talking to my Ortho after I get back from my hunting trip.

Rats.
Prayers sent.
If a guy needs to hurt his knee in your Northern clime this is the time to do it. Recoup over the winter and be good to go in the Spring.
Perhaps you will be easily repaired and you'll soon be good to go:-)

I'm sorry to hear of your injury, Cheesy. However, as FastDoc noted, you can "lick your wounds" during the approaching winter. Did I ever mention that I hate winter? :ohno:

You'll be pedalling cool old bikes before you know it, Mr. Fromage.

Bringing this back up. Surgery on 5 Dec. Besides the minor ACL tear, I tore what was left of my meniscus and there is some loose crap floating around in there. Bits of my meniscus I'd imagine. I still had vacation to burn, so I'm taking off the 4-6, and 9-11. If this goes anything like my last knee surgery, I'll be off my crutches by the 10th.
BTW, my boss asked me which days I'd be off next month. After looking at my schedule, I told him he'd be better off asking which days I'd be in. Also off the 23rd through the 27th.
Seniority is a wonderful thing. At least if you work at a place that still respects it.

Agreed, although it appears as though my employer is trying to remove the benefit.
Good luck with your procedure.

Thank God your surgery should be very straightforward and given your overall fittness and health, I predict a quick and complete recovery.
