Hey Guys,
I've been looking around the net and reading threads here the last couple of days. And since I've bought the chinese quads I have things have changes drastically with U.S imports due to the EPA crackdown you guys were referring to. So this got me thinking. Can we get a discussion going about what IS available, what models have the decent power plants that ya'll like, and what dealers are STILL stand up? There is not much in the way of used china bikes in my area so a new one it will be. The small atv for my daughter is going to be a breeze to find. But the beloved dual sports that get praise from you guys are no longer available. Thoughts?

That clinches it. I'm never selling mine.

The golden age of Chinese, dual sport, motorcycle bargains is dead. The day of $1,500 QLink XF200, and $1,000 Zongshen 200GY-2 bikes will never return. :ohno:

However, the QLink/SSR/Pioneer bikes are still available, albeit at much higher prices. Several vendors in California are selling these bikes.

The problem is as the price of a CB approached $2,000, a nice used Japanese bile makes more sense.

I agree completely. :) I bought my 2005 XR650L with 7,800 miles on the odometer for $2,000. I bought my 2004 CRF250X with 150 hours on the clock for $2,100. When the price approaches $2,000, one is usually far better off looking for a good deal on a slightly used, Japanese motorcycle. ;)

As I said, the golden days of the bargain, Chinese, dual sport motorcycle are gone for good. The bargain basement prices were driven by excess inventory, and the Chinese are not going to get caught in that predicament again. :ohno:
