Hey Spudrider,
You recall the cool tire changer that Pete-NZ showed us on ADVrider?

I never heard anything else about them. Wish we could get them.
Wonder why nobody's selling them in the US? Seems like a great opportunity.

Looks like the Spur gear & rack aren't too expensive (depending on the size) if I wanted to try making a few of them. The racks come in 24" lengths, so you could probable make 3 or 4 of them from one. The other parts look pretty simple.
I guess that's about 1/2" wide. Don't you think?

If you manufacture them, I'm sure you could sell quite a few of them. :) The original item is manufactured in Estonia.

However, you can also buy this tire changer on eBay for $179.

Undercut that price, and you are in business. ;)

It looks like the ebay one is from them too, but I don't see provisions for various axle sizes. After starting this thread I realized that there was another thread on ADVrider where folks were making group buys. Not sure what the final cost is, or if or when they're planning to purchase more.
I am a little surprised none of the fabricator guys who make racks, etc. for bikes haven't jumped in on making these. Looks pretty simple, after you've made the first one. I'm sure there are cheaper sources for the spur gears & racks, than I found in 2 minutes of searching. They look like something Harbor Frt would sell for $30.

Indeed, that TMT3 tire changer is an impressive creation. :) However, the price of $449 Euros, plus $78 Euros shipping cost is daunting.
After one learns the proper technique, changing tires can be fun using a $90 tire changing stand, 3 tire spoons, and a Bead Buddy.
