It was a perfect weather here this weekend.

Although I got to ride all 3 days my flying was more interesting so I thought I'd share:-)

Mt Hood at sunset over the Columbia River. This was coming home from Joseph, Oregon in the Eagle Cap Wilderness.

Downtown Joseph. A beautiful mountain town surrounded by snowcapped 8,000 foot plus mountians.

The sunset last night while I was flying Monte's Beechcraft home from John Day, Oregon. 200 MPH airplane really rocks. The fact that the landing light failed in pitch black darkness when I was on final approach for my home airport was not appreciated though. It worked out fine though, this is something I practice.

Mt Hood yesterday from the Beech. This was the south approach, the prior pic was from the east.

Joseph, Oregon is named for Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe. Indeed, Joseph is great town to visit, and the nearby Wallowa Mountains are beautiful.

Spud's pic is 1000% better than mine. It is a beautiful place with great lakes, mountains, dining, hunting, and flying. Indeed, most outdoor sports are well accommodated there.

It is a favorite fly-in destination for me. In about an hour I'm out of the flat-ish desert and in the high alpine environment complete with year round snow capped mountains, wildlife, rivers and streams. And trees! Imagine that, trees!

Joseph is a good place to take your favorite blonde on a Gold Wing for a glass of wine.

It's also a nice place to take her swimming.

Good place for vodka and a cigar.

Or some live music while you dine.

Pics are from last summer. Linda and I took the Gold Wing there to share a cabin with Monte and his wife Lisa who flew in the day before.
