I know my bike was abused. It has less than 1000 miles on it and everything I've pulled off of it is broke.
Is this normal or was the previous owner a special kind of stupid?

My guess was it was run hard and put away wet... Spudriders zong has over 62,000 miles on it and still looks great... Some of it may be quality, but most is mostlikely lack of care from the previous owner...

as bogieboy says, plus probably bolts overtightended with an impact wrench. but redoing the whole bike means you know she ll be good.

I've now had my hands on several China bikes and quads, and all of the used ones had been seriously abused. My guess is that people who are new to off-roading buy these products, rather than invest in a Japanese bike.

That seems so sad to me. . . Don't get too down; we have to be strong for these bikes once they are nursed back to health! The emotional scars never quite go away, as evidenced by bolts that constantly fall off, plastic body pieces too far beaten to be used again, and turn signals that no longer blink their special glow, but the bike abuses have to be cared for one used Chinabike at a time...

My approach is simple. I fix everything.
