Pulled the trigger on a brand new bike; ordered a 50cc Lintex scooter as well to save on shipping (I got wholesale pricing, and shipping was very low for both) for a friend's sister to commute on.

I ordered direct from my friends at Excalibur Motors www.atv4usa.com but some of you cannot; first, some of their product is not California-legal, including the TMEC 200 (there are a couple loopholes, however, no matter what bike is not C.A.R.B. certified).

What is the ETA?

What is the ETA?

Already here...I should have clarified I ordered them on May 1st, shipped on May 2nd, and arrived at my friend's shop on May 5th. For a couple hours on Monday, we got the scooter near finished (it did not require a lot, but we had no idea what we were doing since there are no instructions nor had we put one together before). I did not get to the TMEC until May 6th when I took a day off work to finalize putting the bikes together.

The scooter got done and running, but the TMEC was a little more in depth, even though I own an older model. Part of the problem seems to be the emissions junk they have added, and the fact that the '09 model only needed certain parts done, not a total tear down and rebuild.

Cool....keep em coming!

Here it's finished (okay, not completely, because I had just received the 48 tooth rear sprocket from the UK which needed installation--but it was rideable here).

Ironically, the rear wheel was already attached in the crate. I did not have to remove it until I decided to bolt on the new rear sprocket. The stocker is a 56 tooth. The counter-sprocket should still be a 17 tooth (which does help). I bought a 48 tooth rear sprocket from the UK which was to be installed this past Saturday.

side by side sprockets and the rear wheel removed

What is that going to do to your top speed vs stock?

I would guess that he will get about 65mph top speed and be able to cruise at 50-55mph.

I am shooting for 65 mph, but so far, hitting an indicated 50 mph while the engine is working itself in. The odometer and the speedo are in kms, even though it says 'MPH'

It gets me to work and back daily--approx. 33 miles per day. Ironically, I don't really, if ever, do recreational riding since the entire Yuma area is not conducive to 2 wheeling (off-road)

Sorry, a little late answering--but by now, obviously black.

I probably did too much homework--maybe overthought it at times! :)

I've been away for a few days, so I just noticed this thread. ;) Congratulations on your new TMEC 200, Culcune! The bike looks great.

Bike looks great. It looks like you lost a lot of chain adjustment after your sprocket change.

Yes I did, David. I had some of the chain removed this past Sat.; enough to push the tire all the way forward in order to let the chain stretch from there. I will probably order an O-ring chain in the next few weeks for good measure since I still have nightmares of several chains tearing apart randomly on my last bike (actually from my aftermarket sprocket).

Your bike looks good! Planning to make it look even better?

It gets me to work and back daily--approx. 33 miles per day. Ironically, I don't really, if ever, do recreational riding since the entire Yuma area is not conducive to 2 wheeling (off-road) When I'm in the daily groove and ride to work and back, about 40 k s per day, I enjoy it, but I don t often feel like riding on my days off! During holidays I go for spontaneous fun rides, though!

Looks nice! What can a TMEC 200 with the stock sprockets cruise at comfortably? Another gent here just ordered one, but they did a PDI on his, and are shipping it to him. I don't know if, after a PDI they tear it back apart and recrate it or what. Did they PDI yours too?

probably won't do much to the looks, other than put things back on that fall off :) I wish I had the time to ride for fun...

My old bike could cruise at 55 mph with the stock sprocket. I hadn't broken in this bike with the stock 56 tooth, so only hit top speed a couple times, but did not hit a cruising speed
