The 167FML Honda CG type engine on the Roketa (made by Zongshen) has an oil window on the valve cover like the ones used to check oil level on the side covers of some engines. What is it for?

Photo? The only ones I have seen are the ones where you can check the oil--my old '05 Jetmoto 200 enduro used a Zongshen engine which had the oil window, but I have not heard of a higher up window?

Interesting. Maybe a visual to confirm oil to the top end.

I haven't heard of this before. Please do post a photograph.

Will get a pic later today. There isn't enough oil up there to see through the window so I figure it might be a peep hole to see if any of the hamsters are slacking off.

I am not sure how many hamsters it takes to equal 16 horses.

Chinese hamsters are small but powerful. Here's a pic of the oil window.

He's powerful, and he's cute. :) It's obvious the window is there so the hamsters have a view of the outside world. ;)

That's hamster cruelty. If there was a society for that, someone would probably care.

Union hamsters. Might go on strike.

The poor hamsters that power my Lifan don't have a nice picture window in the valve cover. Guess they have to use a snorkel to dive down through the oil to look out the oil level window.
I really can't think of any purpose for a window in the valve cover. They should have put it on the side cover as an oil level check instead, like Lifan does.
