Hello I'm new to this forum. Does anybody have a Jet Moto Enduro 250 or a Roketa DB 03 250 (same bike)? Any information would be helpful, thanks, Andy

Look for any fairly recent threads under 'Bashan' here in 'dual sport/enduro'; these bikes are made by Bashan. Ask any questions you might have--we might even pretend to have an answer!! ;)

In all seriousness, someone just posted on a few month old Bashan thread yesterday (a few threads below this one) http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=14037 (keep in mind the 200's are not much different than the 229cc's)

Here is one about the 250 http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=13950

And another one... http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=13928

These should get you 'caught up' to speed on your bike...

I am guessing you bought yours from http://www.motobuys.com/150-250cc-dirt-bikes.html as they refer to some of these Bashans as 'Jetmoto' which is a defunct brand of Chinese bikes that was based out of San Francisco years ago (maybe they are back with these bikes??)

Thanks for the reply. At least I know what to expect when it arrives. Yes I ordered it from motobuys.com. I've been trying to find a little information about the specs on it, Yes I know should have done that more before ordering. (wait until the wife fines out LOL) I did the research on another websight the decided to get it from motobuys. In doing more research I noticed the different websights have conflicting specs. I've seen the seathieght listed anywhere from 35" down to 28". Roketta's websight have the exact same specs for the 200 and 250 including engine specs. I have called several websights and apparently they are all drop shippers and only know what is listed on Roketa's websight. I can't find any more information online other than websights trying to sell it to me with conflicting specs. Apparently this is a newer model and nobody has posted anything online about it. I cant even find any pictures of it but the ones that Roketta has on there sight that everybody else is using. When I call Roketa I just wait on hold until i hang up. The Bashan number is BS250-gy9. and the only thing i can find out that is a car dealer selling it for almost a $1000 more than I paid for it with no specs at all. I'm anxious to get it probably in a another week. I'll have to break the news to my wife gently LOL.

I am no mechanic by any means, but it is good to assemble your own bike (especially if you are no mechanic) if you think you can. However, having a professional do it cannot hurt, either (the car dealer being the professional if you could have fandangled a better deal out of them)!

This particular bike is 'new' to us here as most ordered the other styles of Bashan; I am guessing the main differences will be in the outer plastic panels, not under them. The trials and tribulations of the other Bashan owners should translate to your experiences, with the engine definitely the same across the board. The only issue I remember the two guys with the 250's complain about (not the 200 bike guys) was the leaking gas tanks on both of their bikes.

Keep us posted on anything new, and hopefully, people with experiences with their Bashans can and will chime in. Post on their threads, too, to see if they aren't hibernating for the winter :)

BTW, what other website did you use to research this bike? www.mychinamoto.com is another forum for Chinese bikes, but most of the members there are expats of Europe and elsewhere living in China, so most of the North American bikes are actually foreign to them (most of our bikes in the US and Canada are export only bikes, such as the Bashan bikes, so Chinese, or otherwise, people in China would not be familiar with them).

I'm no mechanic but I have pulled engines and replaced transmissions in cars. I usually do my own car and lawnmower maintenance but no expert by any means. I also ordered a BMS Ranch Pony 500 (wife knows about that one). I looked on you tube and that one has a thousand parts to put together. I also have a Tao Tao 150D I Just bought for a Christmas present. This will be my 4th bike that I have owned but its been 10 years since I have owned one and my first dual sport and first chinese. I'm not that concerned about the assembly (there is plenty of information on here if I need it) and you seem pretty knowledgeable. I looked at 8 or 9 websights doing a search under the 3 brand names. Bashan model number only comes up with a car dealer. I looked at KillerMotorsport, Express Scooters, Sunnymotors, motobuys, and few others that I can't recall. When I compare to the picture of the motor on this bike to other Bashan's the don't look like the same one, When it finally gets here and if it has a manual I'm sure all questions will be answered LOL. I called KillerMotorsports and he could only tell me about bikes that he had ridden (not chinese). I talked to a women through online help at one of the scooter websights and she could do was quote me the specs listed on their sight and tell me what a good bike it is. I talked to another websight and they told me the never have actually seen the bike. I'm so excited about getting the bike I have nearly forgot about the Ranch Pony. Thanksgiving has really slowed the shipping down. I can't wait for both of them to finally arrive. I should have the Pony by friday and the Enduro probably the following week. What is the most miles that you have seen reported on a chinese bike? Thanks again for you help.

The Chinese build good engines. I have ridden my Zongshen 200GY-2 over 67,000 miles. :)

Hi spud, thanks for the happy birthday. Nice bike! After I get my bike and get it broke in, I'll get some advice from you for any modifications needed. 67,000 miles, wow that's unreal. Any major problems in that mileage?

My Zongshen 200GY-2 has a copy of the same engine installed in the currently manufactured, Yamaha T200 motorcycle. Your bike has a clone of a Honda engine. I merely perform routine maintenance on this engine, and I haven't had any major problems.

My '09 TMEC 200 enduro which I bought used with unknown miles (the speedo cable was already broken) I put on over 10k miles in daily commuting over 18 months. My new TMEC which I bought last May has over 3k miles of the same daily commuting until I had an accident which sidelined me just this past October (The accident was not on the commute; I went back to work last Monday but drive a car...for now ;) )

Someone on advrider.com mentioned he has 50k+ miles on a Lifan enduro.

Culcune, I'm sorry to hear about the accident, sound pretty serious, I hope you fully recover. l bet you are glad to be back to work (if it possible to be glad to work). What do you teach? I'm always looking for new sources of knowledge. The bike still hasn't shipped yet, Thanksgiving delayed everything. I ordered the UTV (Ranch Pony) on the 21 and it shipped but then Thanksgiving had the shipping company down for 4 days. I just checked tracking on it. It's in New Mexico currently. It will be a few more days before it makes it to Indiana.

Thanks Weldandgrind for the happy birthday. I'm a HF Inside Track Club member (even though I don't think I have saved enough with the coupons to justify the membership). I have plenty of metric tools. thinking about getting a bike stand from harbor freight to put it on while assembling. I read in another forum somebody used an old ice chest. I have one of those too lol. I'm sure I will be seeking plenty advice, especially after it get broke in and doing mods. I haven't even got the bike yet but been already been looking at tachometers for it. (have to wait until it comes in before ordering on to make sure there is room for it) I went ahead and ordered the overpriced oil change and sparkplug kit so that I would have it there when I get the bike.

BTW--happy birthday! I don't get everyone's info by their name, so I have no idea other than nickname and geographic location (if shared) and how many posts.

The accident broke my right clavicle and a hairline fracture on my right radial head. I teach GED at a state prison, so had to take leave because they don't like to have injured staff among inmates due to us being vulnerable to attack/hostage situations, and they do not like us to have strong painkillers on the prison complex. I could have been back to work within days if I worked at a 'regular' school.

I am glad to read it should be there within a day or so, almost on time for your birthday! I look forward to reading and seeing photos of the actual bike because, as you noticed, all these sites seem to use 'stock' photos. Roketa is a large importer/distributor, so even those photos are usually from the factory (and those are the photos all the sites borrow from Roketa since they probably drop-ship their bikes from Roketa. Just remember to immediately drain out the motor oil and fill it up with real oil. I think you do it again after a hundred miles or so, and don't be worried at all the little metal bits. Then again at 300 miles, then every 600 miles after that.

I'm glad you said that. I've resisted becoming a member for that reason.

I went to HF today. I bought I bike stand, some Allen wrenches, a work light, 3 float chargers, and 2 packs of gloves, The gloves came up with the wrong price so the cashier gave me 25% off my entire purchase. So I got a $7.99 Allen wrench set, $29.99 1000 lb dirt bike stand, 3 $6.99 float chargers, 1 $11.99 halogen shop light, 1 $8.49 pack of gloves, and looking the receipt they didn't charge me for the 2nd pack of gloves (i'll have to remember to tell them next time I'm in there) for $66.o4 before tax (70.49 after tax).

Then Inside Track Club gives you some discounts, they send you coupons but usually its not much different then the coupons they send everybody, they have some in store specials but the cash register doesn't reflect the price of those items, you have to remember the price and to tell the cashier what the prices is or you don't get the discount on those item. They swipe you inside track card but for some reason HF doesn't put it in the computers to automatically give you the discount, I've been burned a couple times that way. The coupons that they send usually are of something I don't want or need.

They bike still hasn't been shipped yet but hopefully it will today.

Its been a frustrating couple of day ( see my Ranch Pony post.) I finally have my bike. (I put it most of the way together in the back of a Uhaul trailer) Its all together now. It looks good, has a nice finish, and taller than I expected but that's good I'm 6'2". I changed to oil and started it up, It sounds good not too loud but not too quiet. I had problems getting the spring on the kickstand. I found a youtube video that showed how to put pennys in the spring to get it on, worked like a charm. I haven't got a chance to take it for a spin yet because the chain needs loosened. I did notice that the suspension seems soft, I can adjust the rear shock but I'm don't think there any adjustment for the forks The battery came fully charged but it really small and doesn't last very long. It is crammed in a little box under the seat and the terminals are very close to the frame rail. I gonna have to fined a piece of rubber (maybe and old inner tube to rap around the frame rail) before I can leave the battery in and plug in a trickle charger. It came with a wireless remote for starting and killing the engine. It will start the bike even if the key is not in the ignition but you have to use the remote to kill it if you start it with the remote. Turning the key off and the bike stays running with the remote. It also has a panic alarm that is very loud and very annoying, not sure what its purpose is, it only is activated by the remote. I'm currently at work and forgot to bring my phone cable so pictures to come

I never thought of that, may come in handy. I took it for a short ride today, engine runs very smooth for not being broke in. I got it up to 40 according to speedometer, the front brake is dragging. I'm gonna have to take it apart to inspect it but its acting more like a bent rotor. The brake fluid needs changed anyway. Here are the promised pictures. I put it most of the way together in the back of the Uhaul trailer so that I could roll it off and into the garage.

Thanks spud, I paid $1599.00 plus ordered a helmet, and a spark plug/oil change kit for of a total just shy of $1700.00. I still have a couple of bugs to work out (front brakes) and still haven't loosened the chain. the headlight was a pain to assemble because all the wiring had to be crammed behind it, was a very tight fit

This bike is for me but its probably part of the Christmas presents for the family (I'm the only one who has a motorcycle license and knows how to ride) but I may not be in as much trouble with the wife over it if its for Christmas, LOL. In the short ride I took, for first reaction was that first and 2nd gear are very short. In the future after I get it broke in and see what it can do, I may be looking into a smaller rear sprocket.

I do like the led lights, I'm not sure what the top speed it will do now, I only rode about a 1/4 mile, got it to 40 if speedometer is accurate but the front brake was making a lot of noise. and need to let it break in before I get too crazy.

Looks good, and in orange (orange colored bikes are an ongoing joke around here because we do love us some orange bikes!! ;) ....and they are the fastest!!)

I think motobuys and the other online dealers ran out of the other Bashan 250s that have the luggage rack--that would be my only 'criticism' of your bike--the lack of a rear rack (no rhyme intended, LOL)

Yes, assembly and PDI is a pain because you want to get out and ride NOW, but you have to wait. Fortunately the weather seems to be holding up for some riding for you, so hopefully you can get the small issues fixed before the weather changes. Can't wait to see more reports...

That is a sharp bike. It has the coveted counter-balanced pushrod motor.

I encourage you to remove the handlebar clamps and examine them, because they could be on backwards. With no bars in place, hold the upper clamps on the lower clamps. You should see the rear of the clamp (that is, closest to the rider) is a tight joint, whereas the front of the clamp has a gap between the upper and lower portion. If you don't see that, the clamp is likely turned the wrong way around.

Make sense?

As far as the handlebar clamps go, I really don't know which way is right, I value both of your thoughts. currently the gap is facing the rider. I'll wait until you to discuss it and decide the best way before changing it. here are some pics of the clamps

I hope orange is the fastest, lol. I have been looking for an inexpensive aftermarket rear rack or maybe I'll try to fabricate something. I hope that you are healing well from your accident. Probably gonna be a few days before I get back to making adjustments on the bike, I bought to many toys at once. I still need to adjust the chain on the 150 quad. I have been working six days a week for the last year and half and this week they put me on the 7 day plan. I have been burning the candle at both ends the last few days so I may not work on anything tomorrow. I hope that you are able to ride soon.

Spud is right, I was wrong. The real point is to hold the clamps together and ensure that one side is tight, while the other is gapped. If they're the wrong way around, both ends will be gapped.

It sounds crazy over there! Too much work and toys seem to be a problem. After reading your schedule, I am kind of hoping for a cold spell for you, just so the bikes won't be at the top of your to-do list and you will have time to regroup! It sounds crazy over there! Too much work and toys seem to be a problem. After reading your schedule, I am kind of hoping for a cold spell for you, just so the bikes won't be at the top of your to-do list and you will have time to regroup! Then again, I say quit your job and enjoy the bikes!! But that is easy for me to say...:)

I am pretty much back to normal, and thank you for your concern. It has been cold in the mornings, so not missing the morning commute!

You got you wish, Its cold again and calling for snow this weekend. bike probably at this point won't be a Christmas present, I will break the news about it sometime between now and spring. She won't like it but I won't be in too much trouble. I started it up today. Still can't believe how smooth it runs, still has factory spark plug in it. but it too cold and still have no time to adjust chain and front brake

Sat on the bike the other day wishing I could ride, tried to adjust mirrors but they don't stick out far enough to see around my shoulders. Anybody got any replacement recommendations?

The stock ones for my TMEC are actually very, very good, but if you ordered some, my guess is they would cost more than actual aftermarket mirrors.

Not to hijack, but I rode my TMEC today for a couple miles...feels good to be riding again. Both of my mirrors are cracked, btw (they are plastic)

I really like the Ken Sean/Bikemaster mirrors. I have them installed on three of my motorcycles.

These mirrors also fold in for protection while you are riding off road. :)

If you want even more flexibility, you might consider the much more expensive, Doubletake mirrors. ;)

I also bought a set of the Ken Sean mirrors, although I haven't actually ridden with them yet.
