Hello,
Here is a video & pics of my bike. 2006 Lifan LF200 GY-5.
I was dead in the snow when I bought it. Some time and money and it's running again. :yay:
Went to get an inspection sticker and he said the tail light lens is broke and couldn't put one on even if he had any. But no worries. Thanks to Weld I got 1 coming. :tup:
The bouncing I felt in the front was front tire bead wasn't set in place correctly. Thought I was going to have to have it balanced. A guy at work told me to look at the bead.
I also put a plug in for the trickle charger to plug in to. This was I don't have to remove the seat to charge the battery. New battery so I hope it lasts.
New chain.
Grade 8 bolts & nuts in motor mounts.
Front & rear heavy duty inner tubes in the tires.
New front rim, front fender, speedo cluster, handle bars, throttle lever, front front lever and brake cylinder.
And whatever else. lol
Did 40 miles today with it. Went to the garage and back. I'll go back Friday and hopefully they will have inspection stickers.
The bike vibrates a little. I know it was some of the front tire but I took it for a test ride after fixing the bead on the tire and it still vibrates. Not as much.

What are really good anti-vibrates hand grips or bar ends? :hmm:
My speedo is off. My GPS reads 45mph and my speedo reads 60mph. Looks like I have to take apart again and do something.

Try a set of aluminum bars. I bought some for cheap on Taobao, but you could find them easily on eBay. That, and a new set of soft grips will lessen vibration.

I hope the tail light lens arrives soon. I sent it on Friday.

Very curious how so many of these bikes are so very similar in design, build, parts, layout, etc.

Cool pics of your resto. Where on your bike does the battery sit? Where you have that square-tube box... is where my larger battery box mounts on my Kinroad.

My bars are T-10 Tusk aluminum. I am going to get some better grips. Any suggestions? I received the lens today Weldangrind. Thank you!!

I'm glad the lens arrived so quickly.

We have the same bike, although I've made a few changes. This is a shot that includes Son of Weldangrind and a rare pic of SpudRider; the red bike next to my Son is the Lifan.

This is a better shot, although it doesn't show the supermoto fender that's on it now. You can see the Honda XR250R muffler I hastily welded on.

I installed the Tusk T-10 handlebars on my Honda XR650L. I like them a lot. :)

That's a nice looking bike Weld. I'm going to put guards on mine also plus heated grips. Wish I lived closer I would love to go riding with you guys. And Thank you again for the lens.

I got the inspection sticker for it today. :yay:

But on the way home the noise I have been hearing every now and then got louder.
It's coming from the front pads. Here is a pic. Is there any adjustments on the rotor?
Bike has 450 miles on it and I wouldn't think the pads are gone already. :hmm:

And I HAD to get it dirty..... :D

I have changed the oil 5 times since I got it running. Not driving but running.
This is the 5th oil change I've done and put about 50 to 70 miles on it. I hope the oil stays cleaner then this on the next change. I'll change it again in about 100 miles to see.

After figuring that out the bike runs great.... lol

Bet the oil will look better next time..

LOL yep your oil should stay much cleaner now. Might take a couple oil changes to get all the black stuff flushed out though.

I fixed the front brake. I used 2 stainless steel washers as spacers to push the brake caliper over enough to miss the metal part. Test ride and no noise. :)

Glad to hear that; I was going to suggest spacing the caliper, but you beat me to it.
