I adjusted my valves today and decided that either I buy a JIS Phillips type screwdriver or replace the screws for the body panels. Since I have a full set of good quality screwdrivers, but no JIS, I decided to head down to Home Depot and see what they had. What I found were #8x1/2 inch gutter screws in a box of 25 for about $4.50. These particular ones were brown, but the color blends in very well with the body panels and most of the screw heads are hidden anyway. I'll replace the rest as I remove other panels in the future.

Good idea. JIS is a pain without the correct tool.

I have gotten by so far by grinding off the point on the screw driver just a little at a time till it fits the jap screws. Got one philips that I went too far with that still works great but impossible to get started in the screw when you go in blind. When you go a little at a time you can actually see the driver seat deeper and deeper, just don't go too far.
