This winter I plan to repaint my fuel tank, and colored side panels, with a custom color. Rather than take the items to a paint shop, I am considering using the Spray Max Aerosol system, which was developed in Germany.

I like the House of Kolor paints, which are available in Spray Max Aerosol cans. :) I think Sunset Pearl is a good match for RX3 Orange. :)

Those special edition bikes aren't just eye candy, they come with just about every upgrade CSC offers, including alloy wheels, which aren't even on the accessory list.
I have to say, I'm partial to that black with black windshield black handguards and anodized forks, though I'd keep the engine bars black too.

Thanks for pointing that out. ;) Indeed, the CSC Special Edition bikes can be loaded with lots of goodies. :) I was primarily using them as an introduction to custom colors, and the options available to those of us who either want, or need to paint our bikes because of fading paint. ;)

Spray painting with 2K paints requires you to wear a respirator to protect your lungs. Most of the House of Kolor base paints are 1K paints. However, the base paints must be sprayed with a 2K clearcoat to achieve protection from ultraviolet light, fuel spills, weather, and other chemicals. ;)
You can get a good respirator, with replaceable cartridges, from Harbor Freight. :)

You can paint many parts before the filters become clogged. At that point, you can merely dispose of the respirator, and purchase another one. However, this respirator does use the following replacement filters. :)

I will probably be painting mine at some point, but I have a couple different friends with body shops, that will spray the parts for me for cheap....and they do a much better job than I can do, so I'll leave it to them :)

I purchased a rattle can of the 2k SprayMax clear from Ebay for $23.00. Haven't used it yet.

I wish I had sprayed my RX3 fuel tank with Spray Max Clearcoat soon after the bike arrived. I think I could have prevented the paint from fading if I had done so. ;) I strongly encourage new RX3 owners, and RX3 owners who haven't noticed significant paint fading, to protect the original paint with a product such as Spray Max Clearcoat. :)

I'm wrapping mine with color change vinyl, so the original paint will remain the same.

I am unfamiliar with that product, and its application. Can you please post a link to the product you will employ?
