Does this bike not have one? Already ridden off 3 times with it down and tried to start it with the clutch out in 1st once. I'm too used to my MG starting I guess.

First bike without the cutoff if that's the case.

No sidestand cut-off switch on my bike. And I kind-of like it that way. Though I too have ridden off with the side stand down (D'oh!) But did it just the once and now look twice.

I'm sure I'll adjust, that scraping sound does wake you up.

Katflap, that's a great idea!

Another possibility is to add a rubber toe to the side stand, as was done by Honda and others.

It could even be held on with a pair of strong hose clamps. The concept is that as you ride away, the rubber bit nudges the stand up in to it's home position.

On the opposite side of the coin, early Ducati, BMW, and others had a side stand that sprung to the retracted position as soon as you lifted weight off it. The automatic retraction caused many drops as folks forgot the stand was up and went to rest it back on the stand,,,,,, that wasn't down,,,,, because,,,,,,,,,, automatic.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh ! bad memories, :cry::cry:

Me and my Rx3 fell through a garden fence because of a self retracting side stand. This was within the first weeks of having it. Resulted in a cracked windshield and broken mirror :doh:

The UK RX3 comes with this as standard. Needless to say that was the last time my side stand self retracted :):)

My 1979 Honda CB400T had a kick stand with the rubber toe. I hated it. :grr:

:hehe:
