My speedee has spark arrestors...and has 0 as the 8th letter of the vin...

thanks parallax, did you see in my post your dealer got in trouble selling to ca. without the spark arrestor and said they were fined. now the sticker on the side of the engine has nothing about ca and no spark arrestor. how bout it gy-5 people what do you have. brians on vacation from lifan.

My 06 does not have an approved spark arrester stock. At least it wasn't stamped that way. I would think that would be easy to correct aftermarket.

i have no idea whats so special about the eight digit. all i know if brian can sell me one without a spark arrestor and no 3 or c in big 8, i will have my new lifan gy-5 in blue. if not i will go with the kayak 250 enduro. both will be green sticker. from what im hearing the lifan gy-5 dont have spark arrestor, i cant imagine why not since it is a off road bike and that can start a fire. i would never ride without a spark arrestor because if my bike started a forest (which in the real world, probally wouldnt happen) i wouldnt want to pay the fine if i was caught and also from what i hear rangers go around with coat hangers and stick it thru the muffler to see if the spark arrestor has been removed and thats a ticket. everybody, dont get too caught up in hp. torque is just as important as hp if not more for getting your vehicle down the road fast and up the hills too. thanks again for all your info. keep your fingers crossed for me as youve seen what i have went thru and waited trying to get my hands on a lifan gy-5. or the other nice 200 enduros. later ca landoftoomanylaws.com

Where can I find this 250cc kayak bike you are talking about? I have found some other 250cc enduros that look alot more aggressive than the 200cc enduros, but I have been unable to find sellers or any decent info.

I see what you're talking about with the vin... Cali is pretty tight on things. I hear also that the coathanger test is a thing of the past too, now the are doing inspections and checking for the U.S.F.S. Approved stamp. No stamp=big fine.
