i saw 88 mph indicated @ 10,000 RPM's
With 1 tooth lower engine sprocket sitting upright
What are you seeing ?

Have you changed the engine oil or adjusted the valves yet:hmm:

Redline refers to the maximum engine speed at which an internal combustion engine or traction motor and its components are designed to operate without causing damage to the components themselves or other parts of the engine.[1] The redline of an engine depends on various factors such as stroke, mass of the components, displacement, composition of components, and balance of components.

The word is also used as a verb, meaning to ride or drive an automotive vehicle at its maximum engine speed.

10,000rpm on a RX3

Trying to keep this simple. No GPS.
As the title states so we can compare apples to apples.
RPM not important.Indicate stock or 1 tooth lower engine sprocket.

This brings up an interesting side point; perhaps the tach is also inaccurate. Not sure how one would go about proving or disproving that theory.

You're missing the part about keeping this simple.
Indicated speed........period....thanks.

Theories and speculation on another thread....Just the facts here.

It's a comparison,all RX3's have the same speedo error.
Remember the 1st rule...keep it simple.

Apologies from my bi-polar brain. Back to your indicated speed thread.

Sorry for the bubble burst, but depending on 18 or 19" front wheel and depending on tires run, not all RX3's have the same indicated speedo error.
Would be better to ask for actual, as most now run a GPS

I am looking for indicated speeds. Can't be anymore clear.Read post #3,no GPS.
I want to see how my 88 mph stacks up to the rest.
And yes only 18" wheels.
Wow,enough with theory class, how bout some hard numbers...Thanks

I am more concerned with every day facts like 0-60 mph and what is the real cruising speed say if one was to do highway driving.

All this would depend on rider weight, wind conditions, road conditions, gearing as already mentioned, tires, etc. just too many variables.

Top end on a 250cc motorcycle I have to ask why is this a concern?
Please do not take it the wrong way inroads just curious why you are coming so closing to blowing your engine @10,000 rpm on a 9,000 rpm redline

I have an idea, why don't you start your own thread and ask it the way you feel is correct.
In the meantime this is my thread and this is the way I want to conduct this test.
And it is quite ok to top your bike out WFO.

I am trying to keep this simple but people won't let me.

Calm down, we have a nice friendly group here. ;)

The redline for the NC250 engine must certainly be higher than 9,000 rpms. I wouldn't trust the red numbers on the tachometer. ;) I believe the engine in the Yamaha TW200 has a redline of 10,000 rpms, and the NC250 engine is certainly designed to rev higher.

I also got an indicated top speed of 88 mph with the stock, 14T/44T sprocket combination. I didn't note the engine rpms at the time. ;)

What tires on those 18" wheels?

See? It really isn't as simple as you are trying to make it out to be.

So you want feedback only from 18" fronts....with the same tires as you.

And no GPS? You Sir are in the minority with that one...especially on a dual sport

Good luck with your sampling:lmao:

We do our best to maintain a friendly atmosphere on these forums. We are not here to argue with each other.

If nobody else wants to reply with the data the original poster (OP) has requested, I'll close the thread rather than let it deteriorate into a big argument.

Sorry Spud.

Wasn't my intent to argue, just pointing out facts.

Okay, I'm not trying to pick sides. ;)

I'm sure the OP is now aware of all the different variables involved. I'm also sure many RX3 owners can give him the data he has requested. ;)

If anyone wants to start a new thread on this topic, with different measurement criteria, he is certainly free to do so. :)

I saw a topspeed of 160km/h thats 100mph indicated, briefly, using the stock 14/44

And there's a video on YouTube where Javier recorded 164km/h

97 @9200, as per previous gps top speed thread.

No harm for short periods.

my husband claimed 80mph indicated on my bike with the stock sprocket and stock front tire. that was on a slight downhill incline, I did not ask for RPM. I personally have not checked yet for top speed :P

91 mph @ 9,200 rpm using the stock 14/44 gears. (I know you're not looking for GPS speed, but for sake of interest, my GPS measured 81.3 mph peak for my ride today, but I've achieved slightly higher but did not observe indicated MPH and RPM.)

The wind condition is very important.
Without wind I got 135 km/h (84mph) several times in upright position.
With some wind from the back I reached 140 km/h.
These values are from GPS while the speedometer have an optimism of 19% with the stock sprockets and 18" front wheel.
