First oil change at 200 miles:

I read the tutorial on the CSC website, and the Owner's manual.

One oil filter and two oil filter screens:

The magnetic drain plug had a good amount of sludge:

What it is supposed to look like:

Congrats on your bike and first oil change. Feels good to get the gunk out of there doesn't it?

Good posting JB. That's a nifty stand there.

Hope you get the off-idle hesitation sorted out. They really are a fun little scoot.

You can wait. I didn't do my first oil change until 600 miles. ;)

Well I think I will wait until I return from the weekend ride. I just installed the tourfella luggage and now I need a drink. Will post pictures and explanation later. Let's just say it did not go as expected.

JB, where did you get that stand?

It's from Cycle Gear.

I bought it on sale at a local Cycle Gear store, but you can order it online.

I think there is an extra $10 charge for oversize shipping.

I love it! I'm guessing that it wouldn't accommodate the front tire of my TW.

It would.

I bought the stand for my Scout that has a 130/90-16 front tire.

It works fine, although the tire tends to wedge itself into the front part of the stand. But with a bit of back and forth rocking, it will back out.

The TW also has a 130 front tire.

The stand holds the bike (both the Scout and the RX3) vertically with no other support.

However, I make it a point to be careful not to bump them. I haven't tested the "tipping point".

I have an identical stand, in NC, mounted to a small utility trailer that I have used to trailer the TW and my DR650. On the trailer I use tie down straps so as not to worry about "tipping". :)

I have the Harbor Freight version and it works on both my RX-3 and my Valkyrie, although i did have to drill a couple of extra mounting holes for the Valk. I've used it in the garage and hundreds of miles in my toyhauler with additional straps to prevent a tip over.

I just spotted that one at HF yesterday. That item may be in my future.
