Check out the Zong powered AJP PR5R. Engine looks the same as the RX3......but it makes more power. Exhaust looks like it would flow better. Thoughts?

Yes, I've been following the AJP PR5 bike for a while now. :) The PR5 frame is different, so I don't know if the muffler would mount properly, and clear the right pannier. Also, I don't know if the midpipe of the muffler would negotiate the turns, and have enough clearance with the fuel vapor canister, rear brake line, et cetera. We would need to experiment with the PR5 muffler to know for sure whether it would work with the RX3. ;)

However, CSC is working on an aftermarket muffler for the RX3. The AKT TT Adventour 250 from Colombia also employs a different muffler, so that would work as well. :)

I'm really interested in the fuel/ign maps.

The stock muffler is heavy, but it does a pretty good job. Have you read the thread regarding the recent dynamometer test of the RX3?

Yes, that was an aftermarket muffler if I remember correctly.

You are correct; I had forgotten. Thanks for reminding me. ;)

Even if the muffler is different, the fuel map in the ECU seems to work very well. :)

Engine looks different from the pictures (look at the clutch cover)
Are we sure is the same? Or are the pictures wrong?

Only the clutch cover was changed. The rest of the engine is identical to the NC250 (ZS177MM) engine in our Zongshen RX3 bikes. ;)

Old thread but some input from me
RX3 seems to be the only engine with the intake port not being a perfect circle and called “EFI” engine
Others if not all others are a perfect circle.
AJP PR5 runs the EFI flywheel like the old Honley and 200 watt stator
Carb bikes have the same stator different flywheel reflecting the use of a CDI
PR5 and RX3 seem to share the same right side cover yet all others are a bit different in water pump outlet and have a kick starter hole.
Stuff 97% interchangeable and suits each other with a few minor tech differences
No idea if the PR5 ecu map is the same or a little different to the RX3, I’ve spotted new ecu’s having what looks to be newer versions marked on the stickers, loads of bikes use the same ecu but different maps.
Not too complex to interchange or get the PR5 motor and might need swap a couple bits to get it to the right spec but not the RX3 motor due to mainly intake port being different
EFI on PR 5 is a little different in throttle body and manifold but I’m sure sensors and the like would be easy enough to obtain by matching numbers
MAP and TPS are the same, stepper tip might be different and injector would need numbers checking but neither would be to complex to get
