New Hawks

ctbrazil and myself just picked up a couple new hawks from V's Bikes in Edmund Oklahoma. We are planning on getting them registered in Kansas and will let you know how it goes. The plans so far are
1. NGK spark plug (D8EA?)
2. Front sprockets
3. Cone Air Filter
4. Slip on pipe
5. Mikuni Carb (115/30?)
6. possibly rear sprockets
7. possible new chains

If anyone has any other suggestions or tips that would be great!

Congrats! V Bikes was the sole US dealer that used to sell the Hensim 250 enduros back a few years. Haosen comes from the Hensim company, so this is like full circle, although many outlets sell the Hawk nowadays!

even though when bought them they were assembled I would check everything. Valves clearance, bolts, loctite, and change the factory oil (or whatever they call it ), and spark plug to a true NGK.

what kind of riding do you plan to do? I was just out trail riding yesterday. the 17/45 sprocket combo is not good for that. I'm going to use 17/50. it seems to me it's the best combination for both street and trail use. if you are full trail riding, I wouldn't change them.

you might consider adding dual sport tires to your list if you're going to be on-road much.

1 of 2 bikes is successfully registered in Kansas and road legal. I plan to do a mix of town and dirt and already have a 17t coming, thank you for the advise on not going 45 rear. Also what do you mean by valves? Just to check and adjust or is there an upgraded set for replacement?

adjust them. Every one of them seems to be shipped tight.

this is probably the same conclusion CSC came to...as they are shipping the TT with 17/50

definitely check the valves, there was absolutely no clearance with mine with only 5 miles on them.

Both Hawks are successfully titled, insured, and tagged in Kansas.

As with others on here my valves had no clearance. Once I set them the bike now fires right up no problem.
