Anyone got a linkt to a LOWER geared sprocket for the hawk?

Getting up over 5,000 feet on some single track and a lower gear would be VERY helpful.......

as to the sprockets, I saw one countershaft sprock on alibaba or alibaba express some months ago. sorry, don't remember, but I *THINK* it was a tooth lower than stock.
maybe send a message to humanbeing :) that guy can find ANYTHING :)

I don't have a hawk but from what I recall on this forum I think most people get the JTR269 rear sprocket and JTF259 for the front sprocket (can find them on amazon).

Yup, those are the ones.

Example would be either going to a 52 rear, or 14t front. I would suggeest going up in the rear as when you decrease the front sprocket size that far, you start wearing your chain and chain guards quicker.

2 teeth on the rear wouldn't make much difference, I'd go bigger yet on the rear, though your chain probably won't be long enough.

The early GY-2 china bikes came with a 55T rear and most were removed as these bikes came ridiculously low geared....so there should be plenty of them around.

I'll take a look in the garage, I think I may have one I'll likely never use. Your's for shipping.

I still have the Stock 56t that came with my Bashan WILL, it's sitting around and wont be used, for our riding needs the 56t is too slow for street/highway riding we need... I replaced it with a JTR269 sprocket with only 25 - 30km on the original sprocket, like wilser said, 'if you want it, it can be yours for the low cost of shipping'

I would suggeest going up in the rear as when you decrease the front sprocket size that far, you start wearing your chain and chain guards quicker.

With a 428, you can go as small as 12 teeth in the front, but the chain can't properly articulate around anything smaller. Off-road stuff is generally at lower RPM, so a 12 will live a long enough life.

With a 12 in the front and a 56 on the rear, be prepared to climb trees.

I off road a lot and want to be able to crawl around with out extremely slipping the clutch.
