Hello everyone. I've been reading your threads with great interest on how much knowledge is on this site!

I am new to the Chinese motorcycle but he had dirt bikes and other motorcycles in the past. I just got my Hawk 250 but haven't been able to break it in yet.

I have a few questions (and if they are answered on a previous thread I apologize)

I already ordered the 30mm mikuni carb, any suggestions on jetting would be awesome

Also where do I get the aftermarket exhaust? And where do I get the sprockets and what does everyone suggest for best combo on tooth count? Thanks for any responses, Jaymbro

Hello Jay', what kind of riding do you plan on doing with the HAWK? Street/City, Street/City/Highway, or Off road mainly with 'little to no street'. Knowing that will help with the gearing.

I don't own a HAWK but from what I read, most of the Stock Carbs are great once you open them up and go up to a 110 main jet... some members still move on to the Mikuni clones and I think they usually have a 110 to 115 main jet and up to a 30 pilot jet.

I can't figure out how to post pics with my phone of my bike I'll get it done cuz I definitely done want to be thought of being a spy for jap bikes!!

I won't to do combo of both high and off roading but prob more road cruising. I ran it this evening, once I got the idle screw figured out( it was almost all the loosened out!) I got it started. It acting a little funny tho, would idle fine then would just rev up when I didn't touch anything. Maybe just braike in period ghost idk.

Should I spend the money on after market exhaust? And would any brand fit or any specific brand better or than another?

I put 20 miles on it tonight and I have to say it was a pleasure to ride. Had some issues with the shifter going from 1st to 2nd gear butt other that perfect! Thanks for listening to me ramble on

Jets depend on sea level. If you do a mod on the exhaust you will have to re-jet. I currently run a 110 main and a 25 pilot. Ebay will have all the stuff you need as well as the exhaust, you can check out my exhaust mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXdzPYizO6k

change oil and check the valves before you worry about making it run better with carbs and exhaust.

poorly set valves and bad oil aren't good for longevity. Carb and exhaust just makes it run better.

Here is what I did and in what order:

1) changed the Oil.
2) adjusted the timing
3) did break in procedure
4) Change oil again
5) bought Mikuni VM26 and jet kit
6) Bought NGK 2202 Iridium plug
7) installed properly gapped plug and rejetted carb (110 main, jet needle needle on lowest notch and mixture screw out 2 turns)

I still need to adjust my pilot jet so I don;t have to be so far out on the jet needle and the mixture screw but for now it is running great. I'm mostly off road so the sprocket combo is fine for me.

Have fun and welcome aboard.

Has anyone on the Forum purchased, or have any information, regarding the Ace Deluxe Motorcycle which was designed at the Cleveland Cyclewerks and assembled in China? Does this qualify as a China Bike?
It is a 230cc air cooled 4 stroke single with 13.6hp @ 6,340rpms. It weighs 226 pounds and has a 53" wheelbase. The list price is $3,295. It's freeway capable with a top speed of 70mph. It has the look of a Classic Brit bike.:hmm:
