New China bikes

IF YOU HAVEN'T taken a look recently at the Alibaba website for motorcycles, there has been a bunch of new China bikes listed, and the prices make you think about buying a bunch and selling the rest to your friends lol.

I agree if it is not 300+ it's not really new... Just more of same, different stickers if you will....

I'm looking at the 400's and 450,'s tho there are some Suzuki/Yamaha based for real 250's that are looking interesting. Also some water cooled 250's, 400's etc.

Bigger or smaller, the quality of build and parts availability have come light years in the last decade. Just these items alone are a vast improvement from the earlier days, that's for dang sure!

The other hurdle is EPA/DOT.

From what I hear to get in with the epa and dot is going to cost a ton of money even if the bike was in perfect compliance. An importer is going to have to be able to sell a lot of them to break even.

A Chinese dual purpose with a strong 250 like a Zongshen would be worth a look.
