Plastics started getting scuffed up after a few trail rides, and I decided to paint them. Just sanded, primed, and painted with some Krylon. I also left off the plastic around the headlight, and just mounted the lamp.
I think I'll need to strip the skid plate and powder coat it black, not sure if I want to tear apart the front wheel and do it as well!

That is awesome! I plan on doing the same thing to mine if i get one but i plan on also stenciling on some military markings with some old military surplus stencils i have laying somewhere around here. Also i think i will have my rims, forks, and exhaust painted black.
What pack is that on the back of your bike? It looks like a pouch from a USMC ILBE rucksack.

I believe he said that's the CSC TT250 skid plate.

I think the Army star would look badass stenciled in, although I'm not a vet so I'm gonna leave it bare lol. The pouch is something I picked up from a surplus store, I believe it is a marpat helmet bag/pouch, but I'm not 100% sure. Decent size for the bike, and has a couple buckles which keep it secured to the grab bars. I'll probably fashion an easy metal or wooden bolt-on frame to keep it from shifting around, currently it's just crudely tied up to keep it from moving.

Thanks, actually planning on heading to a local DMV again, this branch in particular has a reputation for having their sh** together, so hopefully my luck is better. If not, I'm going to try the South Dakota route!

Yep, thought about making my own, but very happy with the quality of the CSC plate.

It's steep, but it's beefy and well made. I made a thread on powder coating it when I first got it here:

$4.99 DIY skid plate here...

HDPE is tough stuff and will flex back to shape if hit hard. I would think it would work darn well if attached to the frame properly.

Geez, for $5 I might just replace the existing one with this one. Saves me the work of stripping off the powder coating, prepping the skid plate again, and re-powder coating it in OD green lol. Maybe I'll see if any Hawk / TT250 owners are looking for the aluminum plate!

It may not be a fast bike, but at least it looks cool!

I might be interested in that red one if your serious about selling it.

There is some wear on the underside of the front fender where it's catching dirt/rocks, I touched it up with several more layers of paint, but I imagine it's simply a matter of time.

I'm still up in the air about it, the green/black/red color scheme is actually growing on me.
