Hawk Enduro 250 Sprockets and chain

I have a Hawk coming soon.. I'm Looking to get a little more speed out of it.. Looking for a 16 or 17/44 tooth sprocket set and a new O ring chain.. anybody know of a dealer for these parts, maybe a Mikuni carb and and NGK plugs.. oh yea maybe Rotella 15W40 motor oil.... Any help would be appreciated....

There are pages and pages on the Hawk on this part of the forum. Many will give links to various items that you may want to buy and install on your bike. I wrote an "article" called "Hawk Talk" that covers most of it, but I didn't put any links in, because they are all over the place. Rotella 15W40 is found at every Wal-Mart and truck stop in the USA. I personally wouldn't give up the horsepower to run an o-ring chain. I reccomend Unibear chain. If kept clean and lubricated, it will last a long time. (Years)

I think he will give up more horsepower with the tall gearing than any oring chain will cause. ive never noticed any difference between oring or non oring chains as far as power is concerned.

never heard of a unibear chain ill have to check that out. almost any chain will be much better than the stock.

I never put a mile on the stock chain and when i hold it up let it slump to the side its worse than any chain ive seen.

I put a 17t on the front shortly after getting the Hawk, and installed the 45t rear after around 700 miles. I really like the taller gearing, the bike is much smoother at lower revs, and is much more pleasant to ride. thinking of going lower on the rear, maybe a 42, curious if the 39 would be too low for occasional off road....

The OEM chain seems to be working fine for me, fwiw...

I did the 17t/45t and later swapped the 17t for a 16t but think I will go back to the 17t.

There is still enough torque with 39t, but I think that you will wear out the clutch a lot faster.
