I have a set of high performance rollers and torque spring to install in the CVT on my scooter. Installation requires an impact tool. I don't have an air compressor. Has anybody tried one of those electric impact drivers? They cost a lot less than a compressor.

I have the Harbor Freight electric impact and Harbor Freight black oxide impact sockets in metric and sae. It is a great tool and works perfectly. One thing I did do is remove the head of the tool and made sure all the gears were well coated in grease. Simple 4 screws I believe. I bought the tool, sockets, extensions, wobblers etc and keep it all together as a kit in one of the Harbor Freight tool bags. Very handy to have around.

By the way you also need to pick up one of the Harbor Freight pancake style air compressors. Unbelievably convenient to have for the $36.00 its going to cost you.
Always hold out for the Harbor Freight super coupons before purchasing anything.

Just for comparison the electric ones do work well and are usually good enough for many applications
Electric 230 ft lbs torque
Pneumatic usually start at around 500 some less
They used to be low but now they are available way up there past 1000 lbs
Secret is, penetrate spray and let it soak in
