My 2004 TGB 150cc scooter utilizes a GY6 engine. I watched a video on valves and followed the video and set them for .005 as the guy did on his Chinese scooter.

It started and idled, but on my commute at WOT, I lost about 5 to 7 mph and I could feel the loss (like it went from upscale Taiwanese to lowly Chinese, LOL). Is .005 the correct setting, and yes, I did look all over Google specifically for TGB 150cc and could not find anything TGB specific. Some of the other GY6 150cc videos call for .002 or .003. I tried my friends at Excalibur, but could not get hold of anyone.

If anyone has a suggestion for GY6 150cc valve settings, I am all ears. I am not looking forward to opening the engine back up due to the fact that the body does not come off conveniently like the Chinese bikes in the videos, and I have a several inch by several inch rectangular opening to work with, but I wouldn't mind as much if someone can suggest better settings.

Everyone has their own preference.

The service manual for the Buddy 125 (http://www.modernbuddy.com/forum/topic17349.html) (Taiwan PGO) references .08mm/.003 inches.

The sidewall thickness of an aluminum beverage can is around .0035 inches.

Speed reduction can be attributed to several issues, including drive belt wear and low tire pressure.
