Hello.

Just purchased this oil pressure warning light:

I'm concerned about the better place to install the pressure sensor. An easy and well covered site would be at the oil strain cover, but think won't get the proper reading there.

¿Where do you suggest to install it?

Regards.

Hi Juan Carlos, I have not been able to find the oil pressure sending unit on the CSC parts list...it must be there somewhere! The oil pressure warning light you mention only goes down to 15 psi. I think that you will find that, at idle on a hot day, the engine will have less than 15 psi. Your light will be coming on all the time.

I don't think the engine as is has an oil pressure sending unit.
I know of a few people who installed them, anyway. They had to machine a thread at the lower end of the vein sending oil to the end of the crankshaft, on the right cover. I'll see if I can find a picture.

(Sorry for the low quality, it's a screen capture from a non-public Facebook video)

Hola Juanro.

I saw that picture before. That guy used a fixed 21psi pressure switch first and faced the situation depicted by pyoungfl:at idling the light turned on; so he tried with a 17psi switch and the issue was solved.
That's why I choosed an adjustable sensor, to fine tune the proper setpoint; but can't find a unit with a range lower than 15psi.
On my country the seller recommends a thicker oil (20W-50); I hope that helps to keep the minimum pressure always over 15psi.

Juan Carlos, I'm from Argentina too... the first guy who tryied this, faced the issue you mention.
But the picture is from a video posted later, if you're in the Facebook group this was Leonardo Mandara, the work was done by Leandro, phone 11 3882 1742, you can check with him.
I saw the video and the light goes off immediatly after starting up, and keeps off while idling.
